Fade Away

Fade Away

A Poem by PadfootBlack

The smile's light fades away
but there is nothing we could say, anyway...
Eventually summer turns to fall
but we keep smiling, 'cause after all
these things we're feeling... they're only feelings
and someday they'll fade away, too.

Ignore that it doesn't follow a real rhythmic pattern, I guess. Unless it's distracting, in which case please tell me. Supposed to be lyrical...

I hope that is the case But for me I instill pains like these and they follow me all my ays A sort of barometer of sorts to character and remembrance

Just beautifully tragic in feel... that sense that all good things seem to pass away, as the seasons... that love will one day fade as well. Powerful, beautifully spoken.
