A poem about bitterness towards love

Hello My Name is Bitter...

Hello I've changed my name to Bitter

I once called myself sweet until love came

Knocking, knocking at my door

Singing songs, and making unkept promises

Now I am bitter with no sweet connection in me

My heart a stone where Billy heart Susy still is

But yet the sun shines on that spot

Keeps the ice from freezing such a bitter heart

But yet I stand by my bitterness

Laugh at the lovers a bunch of fools to me

Trying desperately to crave their name in me

Even though I wonder

Can a stone ever break?

Can love come knocking again?

If so what will I call myself then?

Wow, this is a really beautiful poem, but so full of pain. The imagery is so powerful and beautiful, thanks for sharing this, xD.

I totally understand what you are writing about here. I liken my bitterness to a caged heart, protected behind bars, unwilling to let it out to love, just yet.
