Port Haven, Scenes 1- 3 Scene 1 �" Haven High (A small town called port haven. It
is midday and school is nearly out for the year. Kai sits in the class 4B (a
pale green room with a clock) Behind him, his hormonal class mates throw paper
planes, fight, kiss on tables and act like animals trapped in a cage. The
camera zooms in on kai as he focuses on the ticking of the clock. No one is in
uniform) VOICE OF
KAI: Haven high, the story of my
life really. Nothing new, nothing old, never changing. My name is Kai Dumpty,
yes. Like Humpty Dumpty, I know sad right? All my life and still hiding within
my own shell. Just your typical 17 year old (a
beat) I think. Yet I am different, because, well, I’m me. (bell sounds) My name is Kai Dumpty and
finally my life can begin. Intro
Theme Should Play (After his class mates stampede
their way out of the classroom, kai slowly packs up and is the last to leave.
As he makes his way through the school to his locker, bumping into people who
ignore his apologies, he stashes his books away and then notices TORI JEAN
standing next to him. She has a huge grin on her face.) Kai: (Panicking) Agh! Tori, you scared the
s**t out of me! Tori: (she
lets out a sharp laugh) You have notes for your test?
Kai: (Looking
away) Nope do you?
Tori: (she
nods) on my Usb
Kai: (Pulling
out a book and closing his locker) Sweet lets hit the library, I have a
free period do you?
Tori: (She
hits him on the head with her book) you really ought to bring your own
notes, yeah, let’s go
(Kai
and Tori walk into a crowd of lower school students and make their way to the
library)
Voice of Kai: Tori moved here two years ago,
we instantly became friends the day she arrived. I have trouble focusing in
school and Tori is what they call a ‘closet nerd’ so she helps me study,
without her I think I would fail (A beat)
who knows. My Friends, the people I sit with, they are like a family (A beat) we are all so close, sometimes I
think I’m more like them than my own family, Home life is (A pause) complicated. We will leave it at that.
(Tori
and Kai enter Haven High Library, the building is newly refurbished and incredibly
clean, to one side of the library book shelves line the walls while the middle
is tables and chairs. There is a few students in the Library, one or two of
them are playing games on laptops while others read, a Man talks to the
Librarian, He wears a long black leather coat and a dark wide brim hat. As Tori
and Kai enter he looks at them sharply and turns his head back to the Librarian
but always keeping Kai and Tori in his vision, neither Kai or Tori take any
notice of the man. Tori and Kai sit down at a computer and turn it on, while
they wait for it to boot Kai looks at it blankly and Tori pulls out her books
and scribbles on one of the pages)
Voice of Kai: Haven High Library, one of the
cleanest and newest places in all of Port Haven. The old one was burnt down by
a student who is still being talked about months after the event. (He thinks) Port Haven (A beat) Not much a Haven really. Port
Haven is a small mining town on the the coast. The town itself is more like an
island with just one road in and out of the town, this is the only land which
connects us to the main land (A beat)
My only way out (A pause). A mining
town, apparently they are good. My friends father once heard me complaining
about how much I dislike the town and he snapped at me saying stuff like “A
mining town is good for ya boy! Puts hairs on ya chest!” But this statement
doesn’t even make sense I’m mean how can a town put hairs on your chest!
(Tori
talks while Kai looks blankly at the computer screen, Kai is lost in thought
and not listening to her, after a short while she realizes and bumps him to
snap him out of his trans)
Tori: Kai your not even listening to me! (She slaps him gently) You better stop
focusing on the screen and more on your test! Miss Franze is cruel to give us a
test on out last day!
Tori: What a witch! (She laughs) Ok time to focus, lets cram stuff into that head of
yours! (She smiles and turns to the
laptop and explains notes)
Voice of Kai: she was always good at that
Tori: (Getting
excited and hitting Kai’s hand) Oh, Oh yea you coming this weekend!?
Tori: (Looking
at him) Camping (Kai opens his mouth
‘Ohhhh’) DUH (she hits him with a
book gently) A swear you have the memory of a Goldfish! Josh said his dad
is going to take us out (Kai frowns, Tori
Drags on the ‘Buuuuuttttttt’) BUT he is leaving once we unpack his car! Its
going to be great!
Kai: How could I forget! Hang on wait! Today
is Friday! (She nods, he grins)
Luckily I packed! (He smiles)
Tori: (She
claps he hand with excitement) YAY! So that means it will be You, Josh,
Kate, Amy said she should be allowed, Leon, Kelly and Me!
Kai: Wow seven of us! Didn’t think Kate would
be allowed (He smiles) Awesome, but
what about everyone else?
Tori: (She
half frowns) No one was allowed to go, plus Josh said that his car won’t
fit many people so yeah, I guess the seven of us will have to do (She smiles) But come on we will be
awesome!
Kai: Yeah it will still be great! Is anyone
going to bring drinks? I mean I don’t want to get wasted so I forget who I am (A beat) but a little bit of fun is what
we need!
Tori: Josh said he will, but we will be pushing
it for room, knowing Amy she has a pair of suitcases packed for us! (She looks behind her and Josh enters holding
a paper bag of fast food)Oh here comes the devil himself
(Josh
walks up and lets out a basic wave)
Josh: (He smiles
as Tori and Kai look at the paper bag, Braggingly) Hey guys, so I’ve missed out on school all day because one of the teachers
pulled me out of First period to help her get stuff out of her car and then she
shouted me lunch.
Tori: (Tori
and Kai look at each other) Hello Josh. (Sarcastically) Oh why thank you I’m having a good day, how is
yours? (Kai and Tori laugh)
Voice of Kai: Josh is a pretty good mate of
mine, but sometimes we just bump heads. One minute we are fine the next he
becomes a total a*****e and I just hate to be around him. Josh and I kinda just
met, he is one of those people you always know because they were just there.
When Josh asked me if I wanted to come camping and I couldn’t say no, I need to
get away from the real world.
Kai: Sounds like one of us is having a good
day, you have any chips left? You reckon we can have some, I’m starving, didn’t
get to have lunch (He looks at Tori)
someone gave my lunch time away so I could help move tables.
Josh: (Josh
looks at them both and shrugs) Well (He
thinks and looks down at the food) I guess you could have a chip, there
isn’t much left
Tori: (Shouting
and mad) A chip (She is flustered at
his rudeness) A chip! Well that couldn’t satisfy a Dying fly! Keep em!
Josh: (He
shrugs) Meh (Turing to Kai and changing
subject) Camping?
Kai: (He
smiles) Yep, wouldn’t miss it for the world!
Tori: Yeah, but my parents say I’m pushing
it, they almost said no, but I got the ok (She
smiles)
Josh: (Josh
pats Tori and Kai on back) Sweet so its my place at five then, will see you
there! Ok? (He starts walking away when
Tori grabs him by the shirt and pulls him back) Tori: Hold up! Where we going? You seemed to
have missed that part out (She laughs)
Josh: Oh um (A pause) not sure, (He thinks
for a short moment and shrugs) Dad knows this really nice place, out bush
somewhere, should be good
Tori: (She
lets go) Yeah that's good enough for me
(Josh
exits waving goodbye without turning around, the Man in the jacket walks out
after Josh leaves, Kai looks at him and shrugs. Both Kai and Tori shrug and
turn to the computer monitor to study)
Episode 1, Scene 2
Scene Characters Amy Heart Kate Creer
Scene Location - House Of
Dominic Racthorn, Rewina Racthorn, Josh Racthorn and Ellie Racthorn. The house
has been under the family name for 10 years, it is a bright orange on the
outside made out of wood, with a tin roof which is rusted and covered with
Dusty. Inside the house there will be two matrices on the floor in front of the
Television, the house is clean and very vibrant. There is childs toys
everywhere as Ellie is very young. The house has three bedrooms, one bathroom,
a shed but no garage, a kitchen and a lounge room, the house is rather small
and to one side if the hallways which leads to Josh’s, Ellies and the bathroom
there are boxes. It has just hit early
afternoon. Kai is clean and pristine in the warm summer sun. He stands just
outside the Racthorn Household just beyond the gates that let him into the
vicinity. He looks pleased but slightly agitated the discomfort is obvious by
the way he bites his lip. Finally deciding procrastination is no longer an
option he takes a step forward. Voice of Kai: I find meeting new people not
so bad, but when you make the first few steps into their house hold and meet
the people they know (a beat) the people that in all honesty you dont really
care about just so uncomfortable. Like you have no idea where you can or cant
step? put your feet up on the couch? Or even swear like a sailor. Not that I
swear that often I just find you are contradicted by what you can and cant do
and that in itself is blood boiling annoying (a beat) and plain old awkward.
(In a matter of
seconds Kai hesitation turns to relief when behind him Kelly stands waving
excitedly. Directly to her side pulled up on the curb of the road is her
mothers car. Kelly begins to remove her things from the trunk, a bag, a sleeping
bag and a pillow come flying out and land on the ground at Kai's uneasy feat.
He knows her mother well enough to know she is currently looking at them both
through the windows of the car under her dark shades of highly priced sun
glasses. Without a moment to react Kelly has launched herself into Kai's arms
and wrapped her own around him in a warm and tight embrace.)
Kelly: Kai! (She shouts excitedly as he catches her hug and returns one with out a
moment to spare)
Voice of Kai: Kelly Chiner, She has been one
of my closest and greatest friends for as long as I can remember. Kelly has
always had this amazing skill at knowing exactly how I felt by either the
expression on my face or sometimes I swear its by the beating of my heart. One
thing everyone needs to know about Kelly and I make sure they are well aware of
is her uncanny ability act. One the stage it seems almost the whole world has
stopped moving so her swift and perfectly place movements and words I know
through every fibre of your body.
(Kelly picks up her
bags and pokes Kai in the head)
Kai: (Smiling
and laughing) Our homes aren't exactly a good thing to compare anything to. It
can't get much worse than home (he smiles) Its going to be a great weekend! I’m
so glad your Mum let you come!
Kelly: (She
Smiles and watches as the car drives away, she waves as it leaves) Took
some serious work though! (She laughs and
they hug again and walk inside with their bags)
(Kai
and Kelly walk inside, When they enter Tori stands up. Amy Heart and Kate Creer
sit on the lounge watching TV, Josh can be seen out back through a window
cleaning dirt and mulch off the trailer)
Tori: Well look who it is! (She points to Kelly) Welcome to the land
of Awesome and way from the depths of B***h facedness! (Excitedly Kelly hugs Tori, Tori continues to mock and tease)
Voice of Kai: This is what I love about
Kelly, she doesn’t give a rats a*s about social status or who she is seen with,
most people are fussy about that I don’t understand why. Kelly is popular
really popular but she chooses us a group of crazy misfits to be with for the
high school break.
(Once
Tori stops mocking Kelly Kai hugs her and goes and sits down next to Amy, Kate
gets up and talks to Tori and Kelly)
Amy: Hey, any idea where we are going?
Kai: (quietly) I don’t know, I don’t even
think Josh knows
Voice Of Kai: Amy Heart. Seven years ago I
met Amy, she has been a on again off again (A beat) friend. I guess thats the
best way to put it. Amy is obliviously pretty but she barely notices the
attention she gets. But Amy is honest, almost so honest the at you fear the
next thing to come out of her mouth is the rude interruption in front of the
whole class that you have a bad smell hanging around. One time during swimming
without even noticing she had said it loud enough for the whole swim group to
hear she told me that my underarm hair has finally begun to grow. Of course she
meant no harm but she was so clueless for her actions I could hardly be mad at
her. (Leon enters the room) Leon is new to our group. He doesnt look the most
comfortable. But I wonder if I look the same way?
Amy: (quietly) are you ok? (a beat) since
last time we talked?
Kai: (quietly) Did you get my message?
Amy: (quietly) Yeah I got it, Kate caught on,
kai she saw.
Kai: (quietly, He thinks) Has she said
anything?
Amy: (quietly) barely (she thinks) Are you
going to tell them?
Kai: (quietly) Why should i? Its not a big
deal (a beat) least thing I need is a bunch of crazy people buzzing around my
head trying to sort my problems out.
Amy: (she hugs him, quietly) Tell me if I can
help.
Kai: (he stands back up) your honesty is all
I need. Thanks Amy (he smiles and winks at her)
(Turning their attention to the deathly
silence that now echo's the room a group of gossip hungry pretend to turn the
attention away from the now disappointed Amy and Kai)
Kelly: (she hesitates for a moment) So um whats
for lunch?
(As Kelly finishes the sentence Josh bursts
through the door. A cloud of muck and dust follows him. He is slightly drenched
from sweat and the grim now gathers at points where the sweat has met its end.
His red ruffled hair now stained the same muck green/brown colour. Under his
dark dirty face a large white grin begins to form as he notices the attention
of the room is now diverted to him)
Josh: (proudly and almost boastful) We need
to go to the shops to get some food, we can get maccas then
Kate: (Kate hits his arm spraying up a second
cloud of the muck into the hair. She examine her hand and shakes I rigorously)
You havent done it yet!
Tori: (Sarcastically but a sense of
disappointment with it) Obviously
Kelly: (Kate shrinks back down uncomfortably.
Kelly looks at her and frowns slightly) What else do we need
Josh: Chips, Pizza (he is interrupted)
Amy: pizza? (She looks inquisitively)
Josh: you cook it on a hot plate, not hard.
Anyway we also need water, soft drinks, fruit, salad some meat and a cake. Oh
and marshmallows
Kelly: a Cake?
Josh: For Kai
Kelly: (To Kai) Why do you want a cake?
Kai: (he shrugs) I don’t
Kelly: then why are you getting it?
Kai: im not
Kelly: im confused
Josh: its for Kai’s Birthday
Kelly: (upset) Its your birthday
Kai: yeah?
Kelly: (she slaps him) why didn’t you tell
me!
Voice of Kai: I don’t normal tell people
about my birthday. Ive known Amy since primary school she told the group that
my birthday was coming up and so was the school holidays so to celebrate that
fact we decided we’d go camping. Kelly wasn’t told because she isn’t in our
group that much and even though out of everyone I've known her the longest she
can never remember such trivial things.
Kelly: yes it is! You turn 17! That's
massive!
(kai shrugs off the subject)
Kate: when are we going shops?
Josh: when I get changed
Amy: nah ah mister!
Josh: what?
Amy: your having a shower before we are seen
with you (she points to the bath room
Josh: OK, OK fine. (he leaves and goes for a
shower)
(Amy, Kelly, Tori and kate whisper among each
other while kai walks over to leon)
Voice of Kai
Kai: (Kai shakes Leon’s hand) Hey man your
quiet
Leon: well that's me
Kai: (kai laughs) well lighten up man, its
Friday and your about to spend a whole weekend with us (a beat) Ok I understand
if your down (kai laughs)
Leon: nah you guys are great, Im really
looking forward to this
Kai: I wish we did this more often
(the girls stop whispering and look over to
where Kai and Leon sit)
Kai: what are you girls up to?
Kelly: (defencive) nothing!
Voice of Kai Kai: So obvious, but then you feel bad for
thinking such a thing. They are obviously talking about getting me a birthday
present, their body language says it all, along with the tone of voice and
choice of words. But you feel selfish for even sujesting the fact that they are
talking about getting you something. I mean who has the right to think that
much about themselves? I feel horrible when I think of something like that (Amy gets up and walks to the bath room door
and hits it loudly)
Amy: Hurry up slow poke! What are you doing
in there, the rain dance or something!?
Kate: (whispering) I cant belive he expected
for us to go shopping on the day to get the stuff Kate: So? Why not get all of it?
Tori: because (a beat) because you cant leave
it up to us
Kate: whateva
(Amy hits the door again, on the third hit josh
opens the door and she almost hits him)
Josh: Oi watch where you throwin that thing
Amy: Sorry, but did you have to take so god
damn long Tori: Hurry up boy get changed
(josh walks into his room to get changed. Kai
and Leon stop talking and walk over to the girls and sit down with them
watching the tv)
Josh: ok ill go get dad
(josh walks out side tori joins him, the crew
start fighting over the remote. Half the group wants to watch cartoons the
other half want to watch the horror show)
Kate: I want to watch spongebob!
Amy: yeah so, we wanna watch thriller (steals
the remote and lets out a ha ha laugh)
Kate: OI!
(leon looks scared)
Kelly: kate just drop it
Kate: I cant stand scary shiz!
Kelly: ok fine lets vote, who wants
spongebob? (Kelly and Kate put there hands up) ok and who wants Thriller? (kai
and Amy put their hands up) Ok well Leon its up to you?
(everyone looks at leon)
Leon: (Clenching his stomach) im kinda hungry
(they others start fighting about what to
watch again, Leon decided to stay out of it)
Leon: (he smiles) sweet. (the turn to watch the group carry on Kelly
joins in a few times, so does Kai but its mostly between Kate and Amy)
Josh: (yelling from outside) Come on guys!
(They all walk out of the house and pile into
Joshes dads car. The land crusiser fits 6 people in the back and one passenger
in the front. Tori shares a seat with Joshes little sister. Tori plays around
with her while the rest of the group talk amongst themselves)
(everyone looks at each other and finally
lets out a laughs a fake laugh)
Voice of Kai Kai: see what I mean? Awkward right
Chapter 1, Part 3 Kai Dumpty Amy Heart Kate Creer Man (Tharnal) Cashier (Extra)
Scene Location -
Port Haven Shopping Centre Port Haven Shopping Centre was a oddly shaped building, almost like a swastika from the sky, bur with many other shops sticking out. The Grocery Shop was the largest shop and dominated most of the shopping centre, but the shopping centre also had a few clothing store, a cheaper then cheap store, a large shop, a pair of cafes and ice cream shops, a electronics and furniture store and a music shop, dominated the shop, while there were other smaller shops within the centre. Outside the shop as a separate districted is a food yard, a small park sits in the middle with the shops to one side while various food chain networks surround the park. This includes McDonalds, Chicken Treat and Subway (The group has split into two groups Kai,
Kelly, Tori and Josh walk in the grocery store getting food while the others,
Amy, Kate and Leon are in the Maccas getting the group food. Kai and tori pick
the food while Kelly and Josh sit at the back taking turns pushing the trolley.
Tori grabs a large amount of C the energy drink)
Kelly: Do you really think we need that much?
Tori: (she thinks for a while after stopping
dead, Finally she speaks) Yup.
(that was all there was no decision no
nothing, they walk to the shop check out)
Kelly: (running up to the front where Tori
and Kai stood) Oh Tori we had to go do that thing (she winks at her) Remember?
Tori: (Finally catching on) Oh yeah! Right
(they run off out of the store. Kai and Josh
stand there stunned for a moments time then they look at each other. While the
girls run off Kelly looks back and waves)
Kelly: (yelling out as she leaves) Bye Boys!
(Kai stands there for a bit and realises the
cashier has finished with their shopping)
Cashier: And how will you be paying for this
sir?
(Kai hits his head with the palm of his hand)
Kai: (Under his breath) Stupid girls
(Josh and Kai reach the end of the check out,
the cashier looks at them)
Cashier: That will be $152.95 please
(kai looks at Josh, he shakes his head)
Josh: I already bought most of it, and
besides my dad is driving us
Voice Of Kai Kai: Typical Josh always seems to do this to
me, infact half the group does, the just expect it so if i dont offer then i
feel terrible.
Kai: (to the cashier) No cash out thanks (he
swipes his card and enters his pin)
Cashier: thank you have a nice day
Kai: you too, (to Josh) where are we meeting
everone else?
Josh: Maccas
Kai: Sweet lets head that way now
(in a dark corner in the shopping centre is a
man, he wears a long leather jacket which is black, the man wears sun glasses
so you can not see his eyes. He watches them walk out)
Kai and Josh meet everyone else at Mcdonalds.
The Group had waited outside and sat around a table, there chat was basic and
normal for them
Kelly: NO! Spider man would so beat Bat Man!
Kate: No WAY! Bat Man kicks a*s!
Kelly: Spider Man has powers!
Kate: Bat Man has gadgets!
Voice Of Kai Kai: why is it that we are always fighting?
Kelly: KAI!
(Kelly runs up and hugs Kai and josh)
Josh: Ok lets eat im starving, then we start
driving, so whose paying? (he turns to kai)
(kai smiles fakely)
Voice Of Kai Kai: They must think im a piggy bank Chapter 1 Part 4 Characters: Kai Dumpty Amy Heart Kate Creer Domanic Racthorn Scene 4.1 �" The Car Dominic Racthorn has a four wheeled drive troop carrier car. The care is half packed full of bags and eskies while the other half have been bad into a bed using blankets and pillows, the car is a mouldy brown, with dim headlights and a loud rattly engine. It does not have good suspension and can not help but fail when it is needed most
(The group sits in the car, most of them are
basically sitting on top of each other due to lack of space, they are driving
in a bumpy road out in the bush land. Kai is watching Dr Who on his new
Ipod/music player while Josh sits infront with his father. Kate and Kelly are
talking to Kai while also watching Dr Who. Amy and Leon are on their phones
playing games or something and Tori reads Tomorrow When The War Began or some
other novel)
Kelly: Oh I love this part!
Kate: Is she really his wife?
Kai: I don’t know but I love her acting!
Kelly: Na she’s actually the time travel
machine
Kate: Oh... cool
Amy: Aaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddd no
signal, im going to die.
Leon: who knows might get some signal there
Amy: (hopeful) its possible
Tori: Josh do you even know where we are
going?
Josh: Dads taking us to a really great place,
he’s just trying to rememeber the way
Kai: I was going to ask if we were
backtracking I swear ive seen that same tree ten times
Josh’s dad: The place we are going is great!
You would love it, if you walk over the hill and about 500 meters or so you
find fossils of ancient fish! You'd love it Kai aren't you into that kind of
stuff, history and what not?
Kai: (hesitant) Yeah sounds (a beat) great
Tori: (she laughs) what's the place like is
it green?
Josh’s dad: yeah its really green, Oh and I'm
leaving the Quad with you. Might be fun to take a look around
Tori: cool
Josh: Yeah but no one's riding it without
letting me know
Kai: Ok
Josh’s Dad: Hmm car is chugging
Josh: (to the others) Looks like we gonna
stop
(the car makes a coughing noise and begins to
slow down) Scene 4.2 , 5, 6, �" The Elliery The Elliery is truly breathtaking , The Elliery is two mountains which sit next to and lean over one another making constant shade within the water hole. The Elliery is a massive water hole between and under the two mountains, a waterfall falls from another pool above the mountains where the two mountains meet, in the very middle of the pond is a large rock, large enough for one or two people to fit in, on the far side is a tree which over hangs the water, its leaves drift gently down and land in the water, just to show The Elliery Majesty and beauty. Trees surround the oasis, many are really old and overgrown with vines grown up the sides of the trees themselves, when the group sets camp they set it near the water, but in a small clearing closer to the mountain on the left hand side, the campsite they set up is two tents, a trailer with the eskies on top and a toilet to the right side mountain. The mountains aren’t very high. In a small in cove in the wall of the Elliery is the words say stuff like “The Elliery beware the” and then it is scribbled or worn away, with other stuff the saying “The Curse” stuff to get the view guessing and think. The group take no notice, other than The Elliery.
Josh’s dad: Oh crap she’s bout to kark it, I'll
pull in and fill up the water, you guys wanna get out? (he pulls the car into a
small clearing)
Amy: Oh my god, Yes Please
Kate: yeah my legs are killing me!
Kelly: How long have we been driving?
Kai: well we managed to watch the first four
episodes of season 6 so id say awhile
(they laugh, the group struggles to wriggle
past each other to get out, finaly one by one they get out. Kelly is the second
last out)
Kelly: Ow its hot, ow ow ow Kai would you be
a dear and pass me my shoes please
Kai: No probs (he crawls back into the car looking under the chairs for Kellys shoes, while searching he finds a small silver knife that he pushes aside, after a little bit more searching he finds her shoes, and puts the small knife in his pocket with out noticing, he passes the shoes to Kelly who is still complaining bout the heat) there ya go (he smiles)
Kelly: thanks!
Kai: Thanks for the present
Kelly: No problem, I still cant believe you
didn’t tell me
Kai: didn’t think it was important
Amy: (from around the corner, yelling out to
the others) Oi Kai, Kelly get your bums here!
Kai: (he laughs) where are you
Josh: Just follow the path thingy
Kai: Lets go
(kai and Kelly walk along the path talking as
they go, they can hear voices echoing in front of them of the others talking
and yelling at each other)
Amy: Come on slow pokes!
(Kai and Kelly finally reach them and opens
up to a huge pool like pond. On the back wall there is another level with a
small blocked waterfall, and a tree over hanging sticking out of the back wall,
two huge massive cliffs stoop over them making it almost shady at all times and
keeps the sun out of the clear greenish water, in the very middle is a small
rock almost completely submerged under the water. and a small path of pebbles
also submerged)
Amy: Its amazing
Josh: Dad says the other place is better
Kelly: Well the cars having issues
Josh: Yeah dad said he wont be long
Kai: Why don’t we just unpack and stay here
while your dad works on the car
Josh: Because this isn’t the right place
Tori: But I like it here
Josh: But (he is cut off)
Kate: Josh lets just stay here (she walks up
and holds his arm)
Josh: Fine, ill go tell dad
Leon: Cool. We might as well come to unpack
Kelly: Good thunking 99
(they laugh and start to head back to the
car)
(back at the camp site the teens unpack and
set up a tent, leaving half the stuff in a trailer they only take out stuff to
sit in, several chairs are set up around where the fire is meant to be set up,
Kai, Kelly and Amy go to set up a stop to go toilet, Tori and Kate sit in the
chairs while they talk to Josh who is cutting wood with a axe, obviously
showing off. Leon also sits in the tent putting all the important bag and
sleeping bags in there. The Quad bike sits in the trailer)
Tori: Josh how is it that you always find a
excuse to take your shirt off?
(Kate laughs)
Kate: He thinks is sexy
Tori: Oh you love it Kate
Kate: (she laughs) I don’t see why he needs
to do it though
Josh: Its hot
Tori: Leon isn’t taking off his shirt? and he
is in the tent that thing is like a oven
Leon: Oh its not that bad
Amy: Yes it is (she winks at Leon)
Josh: Na I bet it's not as hot as out here
Tori: What eva, I don’t care, I'm just sick

Josh: Oi im not that white
Kate: You are but I don’t know why, I mean im
sure you take your shirt off when ever you can, how on earth do you not have a
tan!?
(Tori, Leon and Kate laugh. Josh blushes.
Leon climbs out of the tent and looks around, Tori gets up and gets Kate and
herself a Popbee Or a Pepsi soda)
Kate: I swear I am addicted to this stuff
Tori: You really are
Leon: Where is the others? (he asks while
looking around)
Josh: They gone to get the crapper ready
Kate: (angrly) Josh!
Josh: (he shrugs) What?
Tori: We have children around (she pats kate
on the her head, she looks at her with one eyebrow up)
Leon: I’ll go see if they need a hand
Kate: Ok, Oh can you tell Amy ants are in her
bed
Leon: ah (pause) ok?
Kate: Thanks buddy
(Leon runs off in the direction the others
went a little while ago, Amy, Kelly and Kai stand around a small hole they dug
next to a tree.)
Kelly: (she squats over the hole) Yup all
good
(they laugh)
Amy: Hold it, I need to get a photo of this
(she pulls out her camera)
Kelly: Quick sticks I haven’t all day
Amy: (the camera flashes) This is gold
(they laugh again)
Kai: We better head back and tell the others
Kelly: yeah
Amy: whats the bet Josh has his shirt off
(they giggle amongst themselves for a short
while and start to walk towards the camp where smoke is finaly rising)
Kai: looks like they got that fire going
Amy: This could be a interesting night
Kai: I agree. I mean at school we are pretty
crazy, but teachers and school work always gets in the way of the real fun. Im
so excited!
Kelly: Na don’t you know the rule?
(Amy trips over a stick, but regains balance)
Amy: What rule is that?
Kelly: The rule, you sleep early the first
night to make the most of tomorrow
Amy: Oh, but why not make the most of
tonight?
Kelly: (she laughs) I don’t know, its the (a
beat) rule
Kai: that's interesting because the amount of
energy drinks we’ve had I doubt that would be possible
Amy: he has a point (Leon walks out from behind a tree)

Leon: (he laughs) Hey

Kelly: What they doing?
Leon: Kate and Tori are talking, Josh’s dad
is still tinkering around in the car and Josh is chopping wood for some reason,
I was under the impression people just collected it?
Kelly: If only he agreed to that statement
Kai: Meh, no problem with chopped wood
Amy: Yeah, I mean why not
Leon: Oh and he’s shirtless
(they fake cry)
Kelly: we knew he would
(they now laugh)
Kelly: (Entering the campsite) Hey Kai we
should go for a explore later (she smiles and pats Leon gently on the back)
(they enter the camp site, Josh now sits in a
chair drinking a Energy drink talking to Tori and Kate, Josh’s dad is still fiddling
around with the car, the fire roars in the middle of the camp site and a tents
sit to the far side. Next to the row of three tents is a trailer which has two
eskies on it and several cartons of drink and bags of dry food)
Kai: Sweet sounds good, anyone else?
Josh: Oh I will. I'm pretty keen to get a
good look around.
Kai: Cool. We can take to the hill in the
direction we just came from. I looks like it would be easy to climb and get a
good view of the place.
Amy: Kate and I are going to talk Gossip so
count me out
Tori: I think I might join in on the Goss
Leon: Na sorry (He stands up) I might take a
look around on my own for a while.
(Leon exits the campsite and heads to the opposite
direction that they had just entered from.)
Kai: (Calling out) No problem (Leon leans
back a little and waves)
Kelly: (looking around at the tents and set
up) Nice work guys. Im thoroughly impressed. A set up for (Taking Kates hand
and pulling her up dancing to the music in a fun friendly manner) Kings and
Queens!
Kate: (Laughing pulling Kai in as he joins in
dancing) No probs, (Sarcasticly) We did so much of the work its not funny! (Her
and Tori laugh)
Josh: (Standing up defensively) I did most of it, so (a beat) Kai, (he points
to Kai) you and Leon can cook!
Kai: yeah whatever (Smiling and enjoying the
music)
Tori: So we are staying here for the night?
Kai: Yeah looks that way.
Tori: I might go check out the water (She
walks off towards the Waterhole)
(With that the car Crackles and begins to
work again)
Josh’s Dad: (standing up brushing himself
off) Sweet knew I could get her working (he smiles proudly) So you guys all
good? I will be back in four days ok? If you need to call me, go to the top of
that hill (He points to a hill that is on the right side of the Pond) Ok cya
Kiddies (he gets in the car and heads off)
Amy and Kate: Cya (they all wave good bye, as
the car begins to grow further in the distance and their grins grow)
Josh: You ready for the walk? (to kai and
Kelly)
Kelly: Im up for it you still in Kai?
Kai: Yeah (they get up to walk again) we
might see the sun set
(Tori runs back into the campsite with excitement
plastered over her face)
Tori: The water is lovely! I just had a put
my foot in its amazing! who wants to come? (she gets up and gets her towel)
Kate: (Jumping up excitedly) Yay! Im in! (She
runs off after Tori and is followed by Amy)
Leon: (Walking into the campsite) Where's
everyone else?
Kai: They are just having a swim, apparently
its lovely
Chapter 1 Part 5 Characters: Kai Dumpty Amy Heart Kate Creer Scene 4.2 , 5, 6, �" The Elliery The Elliery is truly breathtaking , The Elliery is two mountains which sit next to and lean over one another making constant shade within the water hole. The Elliery is a massive water hole between and under the two mountains, a waterfall falls from another pool above the mountains where the two mountains meet, in the very middle of the pond is a large rock, large enough for one or two people to fit in, on the far side is a tree which over hangs the water, its leaves drift gently down and land in the water, just to show The Elliery Majesty and beauty. Trees surround the oasis, many are really old and overgrown with vines grown up the sides of the trees themselves, when the group sets camp they set it near the water, but in a small clearing closer to the mountain on the left hand side, the campsite they set up is two tents, a trailer with the eskies on top and a toilet to the right side mountain. The mountains aren’t very high. In a small in cove in the wall of the Elliery is the words say stuff like “The Elliery beware the” and then it is scribbled or worn away, with other stuff the saying “The Curse” stuff to get the view guessing and think. The group take no notice, other than The Elliery.
(Kai, Kelly and Josh stand in awe as the sun
sets softly over the mountains, the sight is pure and more then stunning. The
endless range of hills and trees goes on for what seems like ever. From here
Kai can see several pools of water that the sun reflects off making a beautiful
pattern of orange and pink that almost seems to laminate the dense woods around
the pools. There are no words shared between them for a long amount of time.
But the same things are on their minds.)
Voice Of Kai: Nothing will ever damage this
moment
Josh: This is amazing, (Flustered) I, I have never
seen something so amazing!
Kai: If only it could be held forever
Kelly: It can be silly (She pokes Kai in the
head) deep in there (Placing her hand on his chest where his heart is) And here
(smiles and Takes Josh and Kai's hand)
Kai: That made no sense but I understand you
Kelly: amazing the way words can mean so
little
Josh: But be so important
Kai: Yet be so imperfect
(Once the word comes from Kai's mouth the sun
has escaped the world. Falling behind the woods, the trees now seem to be
glowing with the same faint orange that danced on the water across the land)
Kelly: (Upset that the moment has ended yet
at peace with it) I guess we better head back before it becomes too dark
(they turn around and start to track back
down the hill)
Voice Of Kai: With only the voice of the wind
and the warmth of those I love can make me question how wrong this world really
is (a beat) Lets me forget the war in the North, the Cross Fire in the south
and crisis and riots in the west. It seems the West is the only save place.
Port Haven remains unscathed from the damaged cruel world.
(they walk back into the campsite all the
others are sitting around the fire getting dry, they are cold and shivering)
Kai: How was the swim
Amy: (chittering teeth) Ittttt wassss
ggggooooooooood
Josh: (Sarcastic) Uh-huh I bet it was.
Tori: Its just cold now
Kai: I’ll make the fire bigger (Walking over
and collecting firewood)
Kelly: I’ll get dinner started, you all
hungry?
Leon: Yeah
Josh: your always hungry (he walks up and
sits with Kate who is sitting on a large log, he wraps his arms around her and
hugs her)
Amy: (To Kelly) So Kate was telling me that
Petirass is dating Monique? Is that right Kelly?
Kelly: Just because I hang out with the girls
who have the strings on everyone does not mean I know everything (She giggles)
But as usual we are not meant to know about their little rumour which by the way
is most certainly true! (She laughs)
Josh: How is that even possible she is
popular and he is a social reject?
Amy: (In deep thought) Love finds us In the
oddest ways (blushing)
Kate: Oh yeah by the way Amy is dating Dom
Kai: (a few of them laugh) Well that wasn’t
obvious
Amy: We are taking it slow so we decide to

Tori: (Under her breath) Because you only
just got out of it?
Josh: (Yelling to no one) SHE’S DATING DOM!
(they laugh, Amy slaps him)
Amy: Shut up

(they laugh)
Tori: We should play truth and dare!
Amy: Oh god no

Tori: (starting off) Ok (she thinks) Josh,
Truth or dare?
Josh: Truth obviously! As I said I cant be

Tori: Hm (she thinks) Guys? Help?

(Kai leaves and starts to walk to the toilet.
Kai begins to walk back from the toilet. When he hears a stick snap behind him.

Voice Of Kai: As if, don’t you hate when your
mind plays tricks on you, worse yet, the feeling of being watched is just as
horrific
Kai: Hello?
(he shrugs and tells himself it is nothing
and keeps on walking, he enters the camp as josh is half way through answering
a question)
Leon: Damien
Tori: REALLY!?
Josh: Yeah
Tori: Kai! (Smiling) you're up! Truth!
Kai: (he laughs changing the subject)
Interesting night isn’t it?
Tori: well? Nah! (Kai interrupts her)
Kai: What's the time?
Kelly: (Out of nowhere taking some of them by
suprise) Dinner time, Grubs up kids
(Kai exhales and relaxes, they all start to
get up)
Kate: oooo what did you cook?
Kelly: Burgers
Kate: But im vegetarian?
Kelly: I know, Kai told me, yours isn’t meat
Kate: Oh thanks
(kai washes his hands)

place
Kate: there was something on the wall

Kelly: Interesting, I like it, we should come

(they all sit down and eat, the night drifts
on they continue to talk one by one they fall asleep, they are having fun, Amy sings

Kai, let me go (A beat)
Kai: NO! (a tear rolls down his face)

(Kelly lets go of Kai, he holds her, but
loses grip she falls, she lands in the water and goes under, the others swim to
her straight away, Tori pulls kai over the edge Kai fights it trying to look
over the edge)
Kai: (Fighting Tori's grip) I have to see
her! Its my fault! (giving up on fighting Tori he pushes his head into her
shoulder)
Tori: (holding him) Hush, its not your fault
Kai: (quietly and upset) It is my fault. I
couldnt hold on. I failed her. its my fault.
Voice of kai Kai: Its my fault, its my fault, its my fault
(kai stands there lost in thought, Tori
starts to run off)
Tori: (stopping and turning to face kai,
shouting) Kai! Come on! We need to check on her!
(kai wakes up and runs off after her, behind
him standing where he once stood is the Man in a trench coat his white teeth
shine from under his large hat which conceals his face in shadows)
(Back at the camp the others are carrying
Kelly to the trailer, she isn’t moving, a small trail of blood drips
consistently from her feet as it trickles down her leg, the trail comes up from
the water hole)
Kate: Guys
Kai: Oh my god she is dead!
Kate: No, she must have hit her head, she’s
concussed
Amy: The water is out of her lungs and she is
stable
Kai: Ok. (Collecting himself) We need to get
her help. Is it just a concussion? Where is the blood coming from?
Amy: No, I worked out the bone broke and
pieced the skin. I located the open wound and had to push the bone back in, (to
Leon and Tori) we need to get a brace, you can make one from two sticks. (back
to kai) But if I don’t get something to stop an infection she could die. Kai: Thank god Amy is learning to become a
medic Amy: (looking at josh) We didn’t bring it
Kai: Why the f**k not!
Amy: Language!
Josh: We needed more space!
Kai: (voice getting angrier and higher) For
what! Grog!? She could die now! Kelly could DIE!
Josh: (yelling back) You wanted me to bring
it!
Kai: (Getting louder) That doesn’t mean get
rid of a MEDICAL KIT!
Amy: Guys stop it! (She holds up her hands)
Josh: (ignoring her) So what if we had one
its ok to DROP HER!
Kate: (yelling) JOSH!
Kai: (quietly and more to himself) Its my
fault, its my fault
Kate: (Touching Kai's arm) Kai?
Josh: (still angry) See if only you put 100%
in! Maybe then she’d be fine! You never do, your to f*****g pathetic!
(Kai punches him in the face, and walks over
to Kelly, Josh stubbles around for a second and starts to track off after him
but Amy stands in front of him stopping him)
Amy: Calm the FUDGE down!
(Josh realises how he was acting and walks
away, Kate follows, Amy sits next to kai and they both look at the extent of
Kellys wounds)
Kai: (turning his head to Amy, he has a tear
running down his face) I couldnt hold on. She let go. I couldnt hold on.
Amy: (hugging him) I know (a long pause) and
she will be fine, trust me?
Kai: (still hugging) Always
(they both look at Kelly, after a short while
Leon and Tori return with sticks, all different sizes and shapes)
Tori: We didn’t know what size you where
after, (to Kai) You ok?
(Leon and Amy go through the sticks)
Voice Of Kai Kai: No
(pause)
Kai: Yeah
Tori: Bull s**t (she tries to smile)
Kai: I punched josh
Tori: Holy crap! No way! (she puts her hand
up to high five)
Kai: (he responds with a slow, tilt of the
head) You were there weren’t you? Please tell me there was nothing I could do
(he looks down)
Tori: There wasn’t, you did everything you
could, I know you would always would
(Amy finds two suitable sticks and turns to
kai holding them up and looking at Kai like she is sizing a shirt to his body)
Amy: Your shirt
Kai: (he looks at her) Uh What?
Amy: Its the thickest here, I need it
(Kai shrugs and takes off his shirt and hands
it to her)
Amy: Thanks
(Amy grabs a knife and cuts it into long
ribbons) Leon: Sure (he holds them to her legs and
looks at Amy) Like that
Amy: Excellent (she raps the ribbons of the
shirt around the leg to bond it, kai gets up and get a shirt from his bag and
sits back down, by the time he gets back Amy is doing her finally wrap) Its
already begun to get infected. Wouldn't surprise me. Water like that isn't
always the cleanest.
Tori: how long till the infection gets
deadly?
Amy: I don’t know without medication it could
be a day or two before the infection gets really bad?
Kai: what do you need?
Amy: Just disinfectant would do it, I need to
clean the wound that's all. Once clean I will need antibiotics and I will need
to seal it. Stiches? They should work.
(Josh and Kate walk back into the campsite)
Kai: (Pats him on the back) Thanks, but I
cant sleep till she is ok.
Josh: (to everyone) So what should we do?
Kate: We have the quad, someone could take
her back on it
Leon: It will be to bumpy, she will fall off Tori: True, What if we call the rescue
company people
Josh: There is none here. Haven doesn’t use
them
Amy: And we left our phones in the car
Josh: Wow? Really? Good work
Amy: ok maybe a few people should take the
Bike and go get Help from the town?
Josh: The bike only fits one
Amy: It does not
Josh: Look I would love to take you, but the
quad is much faster with just one person on. I will be better of on my own
Kate: No its a long drive what if you crash,
I will go
Josh: No, im going on my own!
(he climbs onto the bike and starts it up,
Kai Grabs the handle bars before He speeds off)
Kai: we are going to start walking, pick us
up with help oh and Dude you have to be careful, (pointing to Kelly) She needs
you.
(He scoots off, the others look at him leave,
when the sound of the bike dims Kai turns to the group)
Kai: Lets get some bags of food and water
together, leave the rest here we will have to walk, Amy keep an eye on her.
Leon can you put a tarp over the trailer? Thanks mate, (he hugs kate) He will
be fine
Kai: I know the idea sounds bad, but we have
to make sure Kelly gets somewhere safe no matter what, this is just in case
Kate: ok. I trust your judgement
Amy: How long till we leave?
Kai: Half an Hour I think. We need time to
get ready. I will make a stretcher
Amy: Ok (looking at Kellys leg) The brace is
done
(a noise rattles just outside the camp site,
everyone looks around and at each other)
Kate: Josh?
(Kate takes a step forward, as she slowly
tilts her head forward Kelly breaths in and grabs Kai's Arm)
Kelly: (in his ear) We must leave! (she
collapses)
(Amy runs to her, examining her, Kate runs
over to her as well, Kai looks at where the noise came from)
Leon: What the f**k!
(Kai leans down and using some material from
the tent cover and two large thick sticks that Leon bought back with him he
begins to make a stretcher)
Amy: Language! (touching her head) She is
conscious now! Tori: We can see that!
Amy: But she has just passed out, she is
exhausted, we will have to help her walk Tori: Ok lets give her an hour then we wake
her up to leave
Kai: She said we have to leave now!?
Tori: Yes but she is delusional and confused
Kai: Tori, I have a bad feeling about this
Tori: So what we going to leave because of a
feeling
Kai: Yes
Tori: No, we cant its to soon
Kai: (Trying to stay calm) Tori, we are
leaving now!
Kate: Its getting dark, we best leave now
(Kai is finished on the stretcher)

Amy: Leon can you help her into the stretcher
Leon: (going over to help lift Kelly to her
feet)
(Suddenly a rustling in the bush happens
again its closer this time) Voice Of Kai: It feels, the same? as before.

(leon and Amy run over to her pick up the
stretcher that she is in) Kate: I think its josh!
(Kate runs into the bushes, silence falls,
Kelly turns around)
Kelly: NO KATE GET OUT OF THERE!
(Silence the group waits shortly Kelly gets
angry)
Kai: What! Where is she
Kelly: She will meet up with us! Just MOVE!
Kai: We can’t leave her, Come on Kate
Kelly: (Grabbing his arm) she is gone, we
will meet up with her
Leon: Your not making any sense
Kelly: Move, or you will never see the light
of day again!
Kai: Fine, we are moving. But tell us what
you are on about, (To the group) Kate will catch up
Leon: How do you know!
Kai: I don’t!

(they all leave Kai stays and thinks for a
moment)

road. The camp is a huge clearing, with totem poles right around it, in the
middle is a massive fire, two the left hand side there are instruments,
including drums and others, and to the end of the clearing is a throne made of
sticks and bright coloured feathers, there are 8 seats on a wood/stick podium,
there is one which is close to the throne, and the rest are spread around that
in a curved moon shape towards the fire. (the group walks down the long dirt road, it
is late at night, Kai looks forward after looking behind him, he heard
something, Leon and Kai are carrying Kelly, they walk quickly listening to her delusions
as she talks quickly to herself about footsteps coming closer and the beats)
Kai: Slow down Kelly whats going on?
Kelly: (snapping out of her trans and staring
at him) you hear it don’t you kai! You should keep moving
Amy: Kelly I need to look at your leg!
Kelly: Please don’t stop!
Leon: Kelly we need to stop
Kelly: No (She gets off the stretcher and
begins to hobble away. Kai and Leon drop the stretcher and put her arms around
them as they help her walk)
(They keep walking, but the motor bike is
pulled up next to the road, with no one on it. It is not crashed its just
parked, in the back ground a faint sound of drumming ring)
Leon: What's that noise?
Amy: Drumming?
Tori: (noticing the bike) Holy S**t! (she
runs up to the bike)
Amy: what the hell!
Kelly: The drumming comes closer (She flicks
her head) we must move
Kai: Kelly stop it! Where is josh!
Kelly: I don’t know
Leon: Guys there is a light over here
Kelly: (looking up at the smoke) The fire
that rage with a thousand suns
Kai: Kelly that means there are people
Kelly: Not people
Amy: Josh and Kate are probably there
(they all start walking towards the light)
Kelly: No longer people, stop
(they keep walking)
Kai: Its ok Kelly, we are almost saved
(the Drumming is louder, they walk into a
opening where there are people dancing around a large fire, calling out and
singing, on the far side of the fire are seven seats made from sticks, Kate
sits in one and a man in the other their eyes are black but you cannot see
this)
(witch1 notices them.)
Tori: Ummmm lets go
Kai: To late
Witch1: (yelling and pointing) Undli knee no
hari!
Kelly: I told you
Witch2: Urak na go tink!
Amy: Look (pointing to kate) Its kate!
(the witches run up to them surrounding them)
Kai: (to Kelly) How did you know!?
Witch1: Undli caritock
(A woman now walks between the the witches
they make way for her. Her eyes are black and her hair darker then the night
sky. She is tall and broad of stature. She speaks with authority)
Arch Witch: Urok!
Kai: Umm hello?
(The Arch Witch now stands in front of Kai
looking him in the eyes closely. He shifts with discomfort)
Arch Witch: Children should not be out at
night!
Kai: sorry, my friend has a broken leg
Arch Witch: And? (Kai hesitates) Speak up
boy! What is it you want!
Kai: Can you help us?
Arch Witch: (she looks to the cult) Ric li no
Witch2: RIC LI NO! (they scatter)
Arch Witch: Yes boy we can help, follow me
(they follow obediently)
Kai: Who are you?
Arch Witch: We boy, are the Sintorai Witches
Kai: Oh so (sarcastically) ‘you study the
dark arts’
Arch Witch: We are the Dark Arts boy
Kai: (Awkwardly scratching his head) Ok then
Kelly: (whispering) We should leave
Arch Witch: Boy, you wouldnt want your pretty
little friend to die would you? (She looks in his eyes) You dont want the blame
do you (His eyes widen) The pain of having that on your soul? We can help her.
We have the medicine to fix that infection.
Amy: We need some disinfectant
Arch Witch: We have something better (they
reach the seven seats)
Leon: Kate! (he runs up to her and sees her
eyes are black) What!? her eyes are black!
Arch Witch: Please, do sit down
(Leon turns around and a witch3 is standing behind
him)
Witch3: Ne Kronse (Leons eyes go black and he
sits down)
Kelly: Its time we leave
Arch Witch: (Her voice booms) Sit down
Kai: Leon! Kate! We are leaving! (They do not
move)
Arch witch: It is rude to decline I gesture
of kindness! Site down!
Kai: Who are you!
Arch Witch: We are the Sintorai, we live for
the sin
The Cult Of Witches: (in sync) We live for
the Sin
Tori: Creepy
Arch Witch: Help, boy! Help us get closer to
the sin!
The Cult Of Witches: (In sync) We live for
the Sin
Kai: Let us go!
(A Witch walks up and looks into the rest of
the groups eyes)
Witches: Ne Kronse (the groups eyes go black
and they sit down in chairs)
Arch Witch: The Revival has begun!
The Cult Of Witches: Revival of him!
Arch Witch: Revival of the Sin!
(Kai blacks out, its black and quiet for a few moments, finally he sits up, waking up taking a deep breath in and he is in his sleeping bag back at camp. His hair stands on end. To Be Continued in Episode 2!) Sneak peak! Episode 2 Kai wakes the morning after the events of the previous night happened, only as dreams does the memories of the night stream into his subconscious mind. When night falls Kai is chased by a Shadow with a monstrous shape and he discovers that he is anything but human. When Josh goes missing the group split up to find him, Kai learns Kelly is harbouring a secret which sends Kai’s mind racing. As events pass the body of a man arrives beneath the feet of Kate and Leon and the beast reveals itself in a fatal attack. © 2012 PandaAuthor's Note
