When you say it

When you say I really like you

I hope you mean it

because you could say it to anyone

You could say it to 5 other girls

and I would not know

I want to be that girl

That girl who is on your mind before you fall asleep

I want to be that girl

The one who is running around in your thoughts when you awake

I want to be the girl who drives you wild

Who you will never forget

I want to make your world a happier world

That girl who is the reason behind your smile

Your joy

Your laughter

I want to be the girl you genuinely want

I want to be that girl who makes you feel whole

I want to be that girl who isn't just an option

Someone who is a priority  

Who you are afraid to lose

I want to be that girl who means the world to you

The one who is special

That girl who is loved

I want to be that girl

I actually enjoyed the poem!
I applaud how quickly and easily the lines flowed and the colorful images that were created. I felt as if I was listening to the lyrics of a song. I can't say how much I loved the poem.
In a way, this poem should be how a relationship should be, not something that was created, but rather genuine, which is what I felt this relationship was. Again, well done!

This piece brings me to mind a situation in my late-teens, early 20s...a girl I loved deeply was stringing me along while involved with another guy...I hung around, convinced she would decide that I was THAT guy; that day never arrived and it ended badly.
