Revival

Revival

A Poem by Kathryn Smith

They want to know

Who was slinking into my place

They don't need to know

This is how we play...

In my red robe

We met

His gaze took me away

I walked slowly to him

We kept this secrecy

And he slipped it off

My revival

His home

The touch

Skin

Gentle

Our hands

My fingers

Entwined

Never apart

Kisses soft

Under stars we are

Pressure

Pressure

No one has to know

No one should know

We whisper

Together

Don't let me go

Outside

They wait

Eyes

Cameras

Torches

Knives

Guns

Inside

We mesh

We mold

Forever

As one

Those outside seem like they want to kill one thing, excitement. Such passion, it seems like a sin was involved.

At first I thought of Tina Turners 'Steamy Window's' with the red but it morphed into a fort made for two with the big bad world being kept at bay.
Reminded me of building a little fort in bunk beds by hanging a blanket over the gap between them and demanding the password.
Quite sweet and homely with all danger outside.
Nicely penned Kathryn

Thanks snowman. :)
Beautiful. Amazing flow of thoughts led to perfect ending. I liked how you made place for comfort for two in the mist of confusion. Thank you Kathryn for sharing the outstanding poetry.
