Signs of the mind

Signs of the mind

A Poem by ParkerTheWriter

I sense my mind changing its gears,
the self-education through the years,
shaping my views of the world in which my peers and I coincide,

I wonder what has brought me to this path I now walk,
people, and the knowledge they speak,
did I find them or did they search for me?
If so, why me and not you?

Five years ago I’d laugh,
if you told me I’d become heavily interested in what I have,
politics, theology, philosophy, psychology,
I’m finding my niche, my forte, my own personal philosophy,

The ideas I share with the greatest of minds,
other humans who have lived lives similar to mine,
these people have so much to say, still speaking from their graves,
why must I be considered strange for focusing my eyes and tuning my ears?
These are the thoughts that separate me from my peers.

I do not wish to become a great mind overnight,
I’m happy with studying the wisdom provided to become one of the wise,
I do not wish to be important or a magnet of social affection,
but I do often wonder,
why was I chosen to participate in the search for knowledge?
how and when was this brought to my unconscious attention?

These are just some of the many questions I simply do not have the answers to,
yet, I shall continue down this road, looking for the signs I’ve been instructed to, from I don’t know who.

About
I enjoy reading philosophy. It's become one of my favorite reading materials. I'm very politically minded, often thinking of the faults and f**k ups of the world rather than the positive things in fro.. more..
