Original Sin

Original Sin

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Original Sin

There is nothing f*****g original about it!

It’s simply a device

such as a playwrite would choose

to take you to his characters,

or a novelist would use

to lay out the plot,

or a director would employ

to deceive and intrigue.

So God, old boy,

YOU are not original

in making us suck on our guilt!

Very powerful, it's harsh how the sin is believed to have carried on while the future of people may have done nothing wrong. Great write

Good rant, not my fave of yours, but you have stirred some thoughts, like sin is older than us humans

The original sin was that 'man' stood idly by whilst Eve had the balls to pick that damn fruit in the first place. Who knows why he decided to give you guys the kahunas to being with ;)

Good poem.

That's me!!
Hard to know sin from right nowadays. We twist-up the world so badly hard to know when we are doing the right or wrong things. My thoughts on life are similar to your thoughts. Better to live life without fear and don't allow mistakes to slow us down. I like the complete poem. Thank you for the excellent poem.

That is honest and OK
Anger at feeling guilt is very effectively conveyed by this poem. And anger at God, because you are religious?

Not religious by any chance are we? :-D
It says a lot to me, again not that I could ever explain it; but as a non-believer I am interested in what others think and feel when it comes to religion.
I like the fact it is clearly about your "usual" (kidding) subjects, yet has a deeper side to it also.
I like this. A lot.
