You Heal My Wounds

You Heal My Wounds

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

You Heal My Wounds
My poetry is lost;
For mere words are not enough,
to express your true meaning to me.
In you I see the staff of life itself,
so full of fruits
of every flavour,
dreams of ever colour,
scents to tantalise
and mesmerise my fractured heart,
until I am so struck
by the love
that flows from you
through my long hardened arteries
that I succumb in silent tears.
You surge through weeping veins
to congeal the life that spilt from me
upon cold slabs of concrete hate
and stop the leaking of my life
to hell
and the torture of my soul.

She is a lucky lady - the one that inspired this writing. What an exceptional outpouring of unconditional love. The strength love gives us to shine in this life is so valiantly captured here. A wonderful read, John.

She who this is written for is lucky to have such an appreciative lover! My compliments on the soul-stirring write John.

"You surge through weeping veins" - I loved this...made me picture a blue pulse of electricity shooting through a vein, energizing it!

Thanks for sharing this...

Now this "until I am so struck
by the love
that flows from you
through my long hardened arteries
that I succumb in silent tears."
is an awesome expression of love.
And then you brought me to my proud knees when you told her "In you I see the staff of life itself,
so full of fruits
of every flavour,
dreams of ever colour,"
Just a little something every woman would have liked to have heard before her time is done.
Awesome, John.

Thank you SW. The words are true.
To find true unconditional love is a beautiful feeling. This poem puts the pain of the past right out there, no hiding! And then shows the cleansing of that pain by love, no hiding! I love it John!
