September Serenade

September Serenade

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

As summer slips........................................

"

September Serenade

The world keeps on spinning

as the sun slips slowly,

day by day

from our grasp.

The earth’s tilt

increasing the space

between us and solar heat

so that we feel the chill

as we leave our warm beds.

We watch the seasons

change from green to brown,

knowing that crisp ice white

is surely on its way.

The crunch of bitter winter

will soon lay beneath our feet,

nipping at our fingers

and our toes

just to remind us

that we do not rule

this planet.

The crunch of bitter winter

nipping at our fingers

just to remind us
that we do not rule
this planet.

Nature always has the last word. Loved the message here and the write.

Thank you Pryde. I go into hibernation soon as I hate winter!
I like this, making that equation is very smart.

If I was smart I would be settled and in a relationship; oh hold on maybe not lol!

Okay, yeah, if we're equating smarts with sticking to relationships, my IQ is in serious question.
Well we have been fortunate haven't we John? Weather holding so far so we will have to postpone the turn of page for a little while longer. But the association to mood and weather of course highly relevant. As winter will makes us go back inside in more ways than one and the darkness will get ahold and that's when we are at the most vulnurable.

May the light shine through

Thankyou

Thank you Rene. I forgot you were 'Cherry and White' lol
This is beautiful... You take us through the beauty of seasons and at once remind us how insignificant we are in the scheme of nature. You have done it elegantly and skillfully. I loved it.

Thank you Divya, so glad you liked it.
'Nipping at our fingers and toes, just to remind us that we do not own this planet.' A timely reminder indeed.

Really enjoyed this. Beccy.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
