Seasons of Love Recalled

Seasons of Love Recalled

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Is love so easy to forget?

"

Seasons of Love Recalled

When the softest summer rain

touches your skin

and the warm breeze

kisses your lips

will you not remember me?

Will you recall our

hearts entwined

when the balm of evening

soothes your day

and you float

on the calm of night's

dreams ?

When autumn tints

catch your eye

with burning browns

and red and yellow glows

will you not remember us?

When scattered leaves

swirl crisp around your feet,

crunching as you pass,

will you not give us a thought?

When winter winds

rage, rattling

in tempest temper

at the window frames,

will you not recall

the passion we shared,

in the eye of our storm?

And will you not recall

the warmth

I gave you

when December's

frozen hands

have you in their grip?

And when new life

bursts forth

and spring

bulbs explode

in multicoloured

joy,

will you not seek me out?

When lambing

bleats drift sad

across the fields

in April's sun,

will you not still miss me?

Sometimes love is easy to forget usually more so for one than the other. Its true and sad. I absolutely love the line, "will you not see me out?" Still hope is alive with this line.

Glad you like it Aaron and many thank yous.
Yes I'm not one for music I have to kill it for everyone who uses this approach cos I can't absorb the write . Its about the write! not MTV. The excellent words play out their own tune silently but with power and intrigue. Lost love if sweet never leaves you!

I am the same really. Normally if I add music videos I don't put them on automatic play but someone .. read more
The melancholy of lost love, coupled with the connotations of seasons, just gave this a euphoric high for me. It speaks with a touch of English lore, and overwhelmingly melted my heart!

I adore it, John!

I know what you mean...it never leaves you!!
Very well written work John. One of my favorites of your work. I have to kill the music on all your work since for me it distracts my focus on your words. Of course for some I need to see or hear the words for the connection if the piece does not stand on it's own. keep it up. nice job.

A question to someone special in my life WM. Many thanks.
Inexplicable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I would have to review.Well the phases and qualities in the process of love are seen analogous to the cycle of seasons. To be honest,me and a friend of mine(back at home) are currently working on a collaboration upon something like this where we are going to describe the stages of love with all the traits of a particular season, the Keatsian way.I will upload here once it's done:)
And this poem is marvellous. All the seasons have been described with such intense delicacies of love.
Love is perennial:)Obviously.Who needs anodyne when there are writers like you?
