Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

“Don't you ever get the feeling that all your life is going by and you're not taking advantage of it? Do you realize you've lived nearly half the time you have to live already?” ― Ernest Hemingway.

"

Carpe Diem

Leave of absence,

not often granted

as noses to the grindstone

real life passes us by.

We are burdened by fear,

by bullying employers,

mortgages and desires.

Children

are expensive commodities too.

Then too late to relent

and take matters

into our own hands.

Too late to live life

to the full,

we fall upon the

rusty swords

of aging

and die.

A reality for most of us, John... but you are right: sometimes you have to simply seize the day and live life instead of watching is pass by... great pic and song selection, too... well-done

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
