A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Final jazz piece for now!

"

Caught up in a moment,

a haze,

a place of deep contentment

where everything

is coffee and cigarettes

and whisky and cocktails,

and New Orleans blues.

I sit in the smokey womb,

a cavern of musical bliss,

drinking scotch

with a beer chaser

and imbibing sultry sounds

as improvised jazz plays soft,

in sad, romantic,

timeless tones,

that pacify the restless

heart and soothe

the stresses of

the tortured soul.

It seems universal, how those familiar sensations want to cluster: smell of cigs, taste of booze, sound of tunes, feel of melancholy. You captured it with great relatable details (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thanks Margie, there is nothing quite to compare even though other things do thrill too.
Did you ever see music just sit in a room and watch the color waves curl just beyond your focus and wonder where the hell it came from kind of like that invisible muse tapping on your shoulder a shudder down your spine as you type away the torrents? Well that's what this just reminded me of...

Indeed Robert, indeed and love that spark of memory you have again moved towards. Many thanks.
a tortured soul....and some half-smoked Chesterfields in the ashtray....
Voices carry....sad carries as well.

Indeed it does, but under such circumstances it can be calming. Many thanks Jacob.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
