Inspiring Poetry

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

So many excellent poets whose work should be imbibed and wallowed in.

"

Why am I so moved by words,

by the laying bare of another’s soul?

The poet who is honest with their feelings

touches me intimately.

When they write with eloquence

I am captivated.

Like a lover with whom one simply

cannot contemplate being without.

Even if I cannot hope to have known them,

to have shared their air,

I feel a physical liaison, the electricity

of connecting in a metaphysical world.

And I am at one in the presence

of such an articulate bard,

Even if I am not fit

to wash their feet.

Such a humble manner of speaking one's passion, but it does more on crystalizing the our general desire to idolize of stories and their authors which is a beautiful desire, rather than diminish the author's position as a great writer.
An enchanted work, author John Alexander McFadyen.

Ah I have one more than you and may have caught it in Egypt too lol!
This is so well worded and yes, we may not feel fit to wash their feet...
but we do tend to walk behind them and pick up the crumbs that might help us be better poets.

I get inspired reading all of you.

Wow! You honor other writers who touch you deeply as you are honored by them; a two way street.
It comes to show how we are all connected as humans even in words and spirits.
Excellent thoughts.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
