poor Penny D.W Millicent Harp

poor Penny D.W Millicent Harp

A Poem by Richard

Poor Pennilyn Harp never had it easy.
From the first days of life she was horribly queasy.
Unbeknownst in the womb, outside things were freezing.

She was plagued with misfortune when she grew 4 feet tall.
She thought maybe the plague had infected her small.
There wasn’t enough baking powder in her diet, afterall.
But of course that wasn’t it at all..

No, from the warts on her feet to the knots in her hair.
She just wasn’t fit to be loved for or cared.
Not to mention the teeth, which were metal, made kids

scared.

She was friends with a mouse who hid in the attic.
Her tantrums, let me tell you, quite erratic.
And besides, she’s psychic, over-emphatic.

How could her friends ever play at her house?
When she uses her dresses as a blanket for mouse?

She has 12 scars to speak of, which, is quite amiss .
When one of them came from her very own fist.

Nothing is easy for little Penn Harp.
But go to her.
As I said, you may one day warm her heart

I really like how far in depth you can go into with this poem. For example, when I finished reading this I thought that this poem can represent society and how humans tend to judge on beauty and on the outward appearance of a person rather than to judge them on their character! I loved the rhyming schemes and the metaphors!

Wow...this had me in Wonderland. Very surreal, but in a metaphorical sense, quite introspective and realistic. We are all this way (or a little this way) inside, at least in part, and all that it takes is one person to look beyond all the bad and see the good to warm our heart.

On a literal page, this is quite interesting. I love the imagery and the way that you inffused so much detail about this poor little girl. Overall, i was extremely entertained with this write!
