the secret silence

the secret silence

A Poem by Richard

Did you say something?
No, did you say something?
No, did she say something?
No, she says she hasn’t …
I’ll go around the room asking everyone where they were at the time of the Big Hush
Someone must know where it came from
But not I
for I only have two eyes
and just two ears
and just one house
and 16 fears
Of stairs and shelves
with books and elves
who party late
with mud and cake

But still … as I get older I feel like I always just heard something loud
coming from somewhere
but I don’t know where
Did you hear that?
Oh I’m just hearing things, hm?
well then what was that?

And that?
the cat?
THERE it is again ..
it’s the end of the world it’s the red faction it’s the sound police!

No, It’s just the secret silence
