the hill

the hill

A Poem by Richard

I'm close to confession the bells have stopped ringing

you helped me believe

like the leaf blowing by

I could run like the wind you could smile with your eyes

and the dopamine I needed was still worth a try

well the bells helped your singing

now i can see why

the leaf that got away

now lives in your book

it helped say goodbye

to a chapter, in a life

you touched me in places i never knew before

you convinced me that in love, to love, you could soar

only, i never saw it like that before

you expressed what you wanted

and it started a war

we went our separate ways on the everything before this express

when I left for the hill

to do all my thinking

I did it all quickly like i learned how for years

before the elements stopped me

you appeared up there in colors so bright

i thought i'd disappear forever

about the war, I'm stopping it now

because I miss you

the hill is slanted in your direction

and i see a light flashing go home

on the shore
