One More Bite

Scurrying alone
Round and round he goes
Every now and then sneaking a peek at that dreaded cheese
So exposed
So delicious
So dangerous

He just can't resist
Paw by paw
He inches towards it
So much wanting to go forward
Some wanting to turn back
"But I'm so hungry." He whispers
As he takes his first bite
Everything in him says to run away
But he can't resist

Just one more bite
One more
And another
and another
Snap
The trap smashes his body
Instantly squeezing the life right out of him
If only he hadn't taken
One more bite
