cliche all day but what the hey!

I don't know how to say
how much you mean to me
my heart is so full of love
for you

On darkest days
lonely night
sunshine, clouds
life's a struggle
we have to fight

One smile from you
takes it all away
one kiss and everything is
okay

I blinked you were one
I opened my eyes you were two
I inhaled you were three
I exhaled you were four

Afraid to move too fast
to look the other way
or you will be a young man
walking out our door

For now though
just for now
you are my baby
and I am your hero
two hearts beating as one

This is a bit cliche
there is no other way
to say how much I love you

This choked me with fear. The movemnt of the years when almost watching them through someone else's else...something you created, something that is your side kick until you eventually pass on the hero costume.

Oh, they do grow up so fast. Raising children is not always easy, but they bring a joy like no other. This was so touching and beautiful. nicely done...

Our children give us purpose and reason to be alive. I have one girl of 14 years old left in the house. But with two grandchildren I have gain reason to be around and maybe be a better teacher. Age does teach patience. I like your poem. A child smile awake even the saddest heart. A beautiful poem.
