Advice & Beagles (Cause Who Doesn't Love Beagles)

Advice & Beagles (Cause Who Doesn't Love Beagles)

A Poem by Pat Lynch

I’m 18, barely legal

My strongest idea is to adopt a beagle.

But I’m not afraid of my potential

Because there’s so much more to me, that’s real influential.

You see, I don’t need fancy physical attributes, or give birth

To show how much I am really worth.

So sure, you can go ahead and try to break me down,

But you’ll find out quickly, you won’t go far.

Because 18 years is plenty of time

To find out about life’s slime.

There will always be bullies and natural disasters,

But the people who can get past these things, are the real life masters.

There will be times when you want to give up,

But that’s when you turn to your problems and tell them whatsup.

Because the way problems are solved are not by running away,

But by standing up and showing that you’re not the prey.

In reality there will always be those people who put you down,

However you have to realize your support group is not a ghost town!

See, there will always be somebody there for you,

So not for one second should you feel blue!

Even when you feel like you are alone

Just calm down and look at your phone.

Stare at the reflection, and look at the glass,

Because the person who stares back, is the person who kicks a*s

Haven't written in about a year, decided I'd sit back down and try to bang something out. Put a lot of thought and personal experiences into the emotions described and felt through the poem. Enjoy :)
