Life

Life

A Poem by Pauline Marie Daley

There's really nothing we can do, nothing we can say,

Because these things keep on happening anyway.

When tragedy strikes like night's dark veil,

When mere rain, turns to icy hail.

When love is something forign and strange,

When life seems like it will never change.

But a friend can be very valuable to you,

Someone to listen to you talk, and watch how you do.

If life becomes just a bit too tough,

They'll be there, to smooth out the rough.

The raging river of your world,

Into a gentle stream will be hurled.

When you come together with your friend,

A better life will never end.
