Hate

Hate

A Poem by Pauline Marie Daley

A weight upon my heart,

Hanging by a heavy string.

This strange weightless part,

Is what living will bring.

When life is good, well life is great.

But the truth is, life's filled with hate.

A child, beat in the park by friends.

People just watching, but it never ends.

An innocent boy, bruised and torn,

Hatred fills people's hearts with scorn.

A family abused by strangers,

Their young lives' filled with dangers.

Their reputation, race, or religion,

Moves these people to one decision.

That unless we're all one and the same,

We'll never end this terrible game.

So next time you see something insane,

Ask yourself, who REALLY is to blame?
