Looking Glass World

Looking Glass World

A Poem by Pax Analog
"

Lyric to WHOLE SONG of same title in playlist player on my profile pg.

"

This thorny rose, this purple heart

Arrows and slings, fortunate smarts

It's still a Looking Glass World

what you're seeing is mostly you

In a Looking Glass World,

Wonderland is a melting through

Attention's gold, a will to be

beyond all worlds, where Life is free

It's still a Looking Glass World. . .

I and I in twists of fate, singing soft hallelu'

smiling eyes, eternal date,

Deeper Love shines right through ya

I've been around, been lost and found

through inner space, building a case

It's still a Looking Glass World. . .

I and I in twists of fate. . .

By passion bound, also released

the deepest Love is perfect peace

If I didn't know your words were lyrics, I'd think they were - the tempo sort of jumps off the screen!

It's quite an unusual theme, no, it IS an unusual theme but then, you always see things differently from other people, that's what makes you a unique writer - not that I understand most of what you write - but, your words are thought-provoking and picture raising.. what more can a reader ask.

Thank you, thank you for sharing.

Although the literal verbage here can be read as cryptic, I find that reading it in adherence to the literal construction carries with it a strong and potent message. Very well done. Again.

Dope! I look forward to hearing these words put to music! I enjoy the creativity in concept and wordplay. "The deepest love is perfect peace". I couldn't agree or have said it better. I'm snapping my fingers as applause.....

First off, I really like the guitar work in your songs. Second, because this is a writers site, I think what you're doing is truly original. I have 3 works posted here so far, and 2 of the 3 are songs that you can watch on youtube. I, like you, am a one man act, so it's cool to meet someone like you. Your voice, I have to add, reminds me of a mix between Leonard Cohen, Jim Morrison, Billy Idol and maybe Glenn Danzig. In other words I think you have a good, strong voice, with strong lyrics. Keep going man (like you need any encouragement) and I will keep reading. If you have a second, check out my songs on youtube and tell me what you think. The lyrics are posted on writerscafe, and the youtube search is "RMerritt" all 1 word. see you laters...

A beautiful read.

"I and I in twists of fate, singing soft hallelu'
smiling eyes, eternal date,
Deeper Love shines right through ya"

This in particular resonates so wonderfully.

I love the allusions to Alice through the Looking Glass and how what we see in that looking glass world is mostly us. We can't escaped the I of I no matter how much we might try to deceive ourselves. Yes and love is peace. So many think love should be dramatic like in a movie, but that they're not living their lives unless there is constant worry or turmoil. Me, I want peace with someone and quiet moments where language isn't a necessity.

I also love that this poem works as a poem without music - though clearly there is a musical quality to the lines - and also as a lyric. You imbue so much into your writing. Just make sure to let us all when you've put together a CD since I will definitely be a customer.

I continue to love your work.
