Unrequited Hope

Unrequited Hope

A Poem by Pennington

 Alone
He spends his nights
The same way as his days
Trying to get through all life's fights
Trying to make his way through love's gray haze
Never since then in his sights
Nothing makes her stays
Underneath the lights
Alone

Desire
He finds it here
He has faith in the smile he found
He has nutured his desire with tender care
He can travel for days on nought but a sound
Merely a whisper that she may be near
But though he looks around
She will disappear
Desire

Beginning
He seeks her now
He know her to be the one
He doesn't bother to stop or even to think how
His plans once ravelled are undone
Hope is lost, as of right now

He waits and he waits, longing for what will never come, The Sun
Ending
