Abandoned

Abandoned

A Poem by Mr. Deft Diction
"

No Child Left Behind is a JOKE. By the time some of our children have grandchildren, the literacy rate in America (the beautiful) will be under 75%

"

No child left behind

can do like any old acquaintance of mine,

and get lost.

After the plunder of the village

came a steep discount

in the cost of making sure teachers are trained,

and our kids are taught.

Scheming heathens want Brown vs. the Board

to be all for naught,

so the text is out-dated,

the worth and value of educators, underrated

to the point where kids come here from other lands

and hate it.

Some parents can barely read english,

not knowing that their child should master that,

and at least one other language.

America The Beautiful...

finally under attack from the natives.

This trickery is one for the ages, so,

No Child Left Behind can

do like any old acquaintance of mine...

and lose my information.

Look into the eyes of a precious child,

tell them the obstacles they'll be facing...

like signing off to get a certification of completion,

even without passing,

even with half-assed teaching,

never able to attain another one again.

What they get when they're six,

it'll just be the same s**t they'll see at their

high school-staged ceremony,

all over again.

Never again eligible for financial aid,

which is another hustle altogether different anyway.

Mexico has the best rated university in Latin America,

where two-hundred-plus million attend for free,

everyday.

Meanwhile, we're paying for Ivy and

grandiose Presidential libraries that still don't have enough books

to cover the horrible feelings that I carry,

so....

No Child Left Behind....

can do like any old acquaintance of mine,

and stop offering up apologies.

You'd think these schools should be perfect,

considering the constant intake of cash,

taxing everything a civilian has,

right down to his deathbed...

down to his property.

A hundred years ago,

for most, coming to the USA was the equivalent

of winning the lottery;

let's see if you can tell me the last time a public school

attendee won the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

My generation was killing for Jordans,

and my children's children will be killing

just for the right to not be impoverished going into the next century.

What about the fight of Thurgood Marshall....

Robert F. Kennedy?

All of that is simply left for the memory, so...

No Child Left Behind....

can do like any old acquaintance of mine...

the worth and value of educators, underrated - too true!

Well, my friend, another fine piece of writing here!
Got the flow going on, the imagery that makes us think,
the words that make stains with ink,
much too true the words you say,
hold them for prosperity and a better way!

Give it up for Peoples g. Riot! Snaps!

Giving it up for a cause
to enlighten America about the farce that is 'No Child Left Behind'
I'm sure if I search some more y'all have penned a piece about the 'so called'
War on Drugs that fuels this here economy and incarcerates non-violent
drug offenders by the thousands. Keep up the good fight fellas cause we
need all the help we can get

I remember people being threatened for Jordans we are willing fight like hell to keep our shoes but not the basic educations of our childrens or ourselves for that matter I believe education never ends until your final breathe, the powers that be should read your words and hang there heads in shame over the state of things they have let things get into and we too have to own our part in all of this and let the shame continue until it turns to anger and change

England has the same problem my friend, no skills, seems that imagination is gone unless you relate
to their lives of PS2 and the dvd's .........I teach children of nine and ten that struggle with basic reading and maths, and their is not enough resources to cover what is lacking............and its only set to get worse.

You as always cover a topic that needs to be shouted. The strenght of truth in your words is something that
should be read by all...............
Don't even get me started on the parents!

No Child Left Behind....

can do like any old acquaintance of mine,

and stop offering up apologies.

You'd think these schools should be perfect,

considering the constant intake of cash,

The intake of cash............you would be surprised that the cash is often placed wrong, and struggling
to get a child statemented is awful, it can take a year or two waiting for that which brings the
necesscary funding...........the goverment do not make it easy to educate at all.

You have a righteous straight forward fashion in your art which expresses your values brilliantly. It makes me want to stand up and applaud. So wonderful. The rhythm... the style... totally solid and strong. Many cheers.

This is point-on peOples....
1st off the quality of education has a disparity that drops off like a cliff....between urban/suburban and rural schools. Its a divided responsibility....parents n' teachers .

I know kids I have taught...that were in "gifted & talented" programs in magnet schools within the city....were reading way below the grade level of the suburban kids....had no rural kids so...dunno 1st hand on that. The $$$$ just isn't going to urban schools..... for supplies programing etc...In part state by state...schools are now ..."teaching to the test" ...regarding standarized testing...such as capt and other aceivement tests...they teach-to pass it not retain enough of it to support the next courses they will face.

Parents...sheesh don't let me go there.....how many kids under 10 have sidekicks...and ps3 ...n' gameboys...but struggle reading and cant do simple math . If a child grows up being read to ...and with parents who read alot...and aloud..they will read...with a fever. Math should be taught applicably in the everyday.

Teachers...a Hottt messs..tooo bad about "tenure"...ruined the bar ....of teaching all together.

Dang good write Cuz...sorry if I rambled

Blesssssssss

Powerful truth said at it finest. That is why I homeschool my babies, because my 9 yr old was being left behind. Either that or stay on those teachers asses like glue.

The powers above the Gov have designed it to be this way.
Dumbing down the Nations make thier movements easier and us more unaware..

America sleeps and are children suffer while we chase shiny things..

Change gon' come but we won't like it, if we dont start demanding that our children have the best
when it come to education.

I know you are awake...

Excellent scribe..

old aquaintances, hmmm... how clever!
