Blades in the Mind

Blades in the Mind

A Poem by Perdition

I imagine you here

The rain beating a misty prayer

Slow hours of my drifting silence

Damp eerie breeze where it sways over the curtain and mind

A room burned dark

Still and empty since you left

Only memories pass

From last we talked

I imagine blades of grass grown tall

Morning touches your shoulder and I am alive

The song of autumn bleeds around us

We lie weary

The sonnets from our eyes so deeply into

Sorrow

It is never enough

The scars

never intended

I imagine you here and the chase of leaves

Rooftops spilled into view

Until again

The rain comes in on a broken sundial

And we come to the end of shadows

I imagine you here

A broken plate and promise

Every time I imagine
