Emotions of Winter

Emotions of Winter

A Poem by Riker

Grey skies pollute the heart

Dull eyes look forever onward

Unwilling to find peace

Darkness ever watches

The Creature slithers within

T h e r e  i s  n o  e s c a p e

Fireworks and Flowers

Bloom in the heart

And birth anticipation

The days of innocence are always fleeting,

Our childhood years slowly fleeing,

Our minds becoming corrupted and unsure;

Our souls are slowly becoming impure

The days are now becoming crisper,

The prideful songs of birds no longer chipper;

The warm days are turning colder,

As if the world is growing older
