See Through

See Through

A Poem by Pharos
"

looking through a shattered glass...

"
Looking through a shattered glass,

all I see is a broken man.

Who can only stare back and think of

nothing but the golden past.

I like the implications here. The golden past--how we romanticize the things that were and feel that we can't pick ourselves up and move forward. Gatsby-esque; I like the effect.

And so they say "hindsight is 20/20" ...
I knew a man one time: when the glass shattered he ran free.

We all tend to do that...when our past seems more beautiful than the present.... but I guess if we keep living in the past the future may also remain bleak for us...
