Fragile Fragrance

Fragile Fragrance

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Perfume is described in a musical metaphor as having three sets of notes, making the harmonious scent accord.

"

Fragile Fragrance

Spinning blindly through

This chaotic commuter throng

An anonymous fragile fragrance

Diverted my focal purpose

Abruptly prompting and unlocking

Lost treasure chests of dreams

But conversely cold-heartedly dislodged

Some denial memories re-emerged

Subtly twisting aromatic

In waves of sensual flumes

Encapsulated perfumed recollections

Exploded an epoch in my being

When critical adolescent milestones

Moulded persona from soft clay

All through a vibrant individualistic

Experimental wanton stage

Now with olfactory perception

In a crescendo of scented notes

Recognition of lost love’s aroma

In three tones of harmonious accord

Burst open feathered engrams

Making me stop and glance around

And at the very last perception

Saw your face on the outward bound

For some reason, my feed is not sending me your poems now Phill. Others also, so have to search. This is a superbly set train scenario, in nostalgic b&w celluloid as your image illustrates- perfect. And you the consummate Wordsmith my friend- jewels of words dance through this poem, bringing it to panoramic color enhanced by seductive fragrance. Love the time transitions and alliteration, metaphor. Last line slays! Great.

I love the touch on the senses, and how my mind followed this fragrance, floated along with it, brought forth interesting memories of my own....

first, I love the lush language - it makes me slow down as I read and savor the word = the flow the alliteration is subtle but wonderful = Exploded an epoch in my being
When critical adolescent milestones
Moulded persona from soft clay - the o's there...
and also because scent isn't as covered as the other senses in poetry it seems yet it is so powerful - even a hint of a scent can evoke such powerful memories.
Well done.
