Rapturous Passion

Rapturous Passion

Silk draped words of tenderness

Encapsulate shared dreams,

And whimsical whispers gently brush

Against two beating hearts,

Entwined in private rituals accord

No time or space exists apart from theirs.

Musky melding intoxicating scents

Abridge both lovers' souls,

In vapour resonance their love unfolds

In singularity they both reside,

For they seek not approval

From a tainted unexacting world.

Phil ...

This is incredibly done....
These two lines...

in a class ...by themselves

"No time or space exists apart from theirs."

"Musky melding intoxicating scents"

Only you could capture the heat and smoldering sensuality ....
generated ...when lost in the oblivion without as much as one single raunchy word...

That my poetic brother is... SKILL

Blessssssssssssssssssss

Sounds as if the two are oblivious to the "tainted and unexacting world" ah, but where does one find a love untainted and exact? lol great write.

Catchy title, my friend! Drew me right in. Nice choice of words.

And whimsical whispers gently brush

Against two beating hearts,

Entwined in private rituals accord

No time or space exists apart from theirs.

Clear-concise-prose. That's what I like about your writing. So few words and yet ALWAYS impactful! Well done! :-) As always, thanks for sharing, Phill!

Thanks for the request to read.

"Abridge both lovers(lover's) souls"

I find this a poignant statement, that sex would diminish the individual's soul.

A beautifully written romantic work of art. It stirs the soul and causes one to drift into that enchanted part of our minds where magical daydreams dwell.
Love it.
This is one for my favorites.

Oh yes....this does indeed reflect classical romantic poetry written in modern english. You've proven that it doesn't have to be written in the olde language to be classic. Very well done! Good Luck!!!
