Revolution

A Poem by B

I see on a side walk
All my hopes and dreams

Written on a border

Framed with lines
Filed on some stamps

My children are bare

Playing with coke cans
They never had a chance to try

I sit by your door

Looking into a shopping cart
Filled with empty air

As you lend me a scarf

I got my share
Taken is mine

Digested in your stomach

Last night's dinner
Thrown out

I stood at a welfare line

Some rung bells for my salvation
Till my toes pierced just another pair

I talked to you

As you walked off
In your brand new kicks

this is incredibly powerful...'I talked to you, as you walked off, in your brand new kicks' . How many times in the world do you think that very thing has happened and gone unnoticed. I mean a little detail, unexpressed for who knows, just now put into words. really moving Nirseen.

It makes me feel bad when I see homeless people on the street. But where I live most of the time there's a reason they're homeless. Our town is infamous for drugs and alchohol - and many homeless people WILL just spend it on that. I'm not sure elsewhere, and many homeless people have been very rude to me before. I do hope one day people are much kinder to each other.

It's honestly heartbreaking to see human life left outside like animals to freeze. It's a crazy world we live in and I doubt it will ever truly change. I remember reading a heart warming articles about a police officer in New York that saw a man on the streets, bare feet and begging for money. He took him and bought him a pair of shoes... couldn't stand the thought of leaving another human out there freezing with no shoes when he could spare a few bucks to help. Nice work Nisreen A :) I got so used to calling you Nisreena that I insist on including the A lol :)
