A beautiful life

A beautiful life

A Poem by Phillip J Clayton

The beautiful face of sadness lives behind tainted happiness,
hysteria, and denial. Charmed by appearances for everyone,
we have forgotten how to cry, how to feel.

Empathy and compassion are like wasted w****s;

toiling through the night, only to make enough for tea
and biscuits. What pleasures.

Emerging from a downward spiral, repeated actions become futile,
the fragility of life lives in a bottle. An overdose of life, we party like gods
with our beauty.

In the professional space, I am almost a diety... I say that with the greatest of humility. In my personal life I am frail and a primitive man... Self-actualization is not all it's cracked up to be. .. more..
