Something found

Something found

A Poem by Phillip J Clayton
"

Remembrance of time.

"

Inside this sickness I will rest.

My racing heart vibrates,

I am sliding away from the sun.

I will reap a storm.

Who will come?

Put their hand over mine…

I couldn’t keep the fire,

It’s not what I do.

I found something,

I will never give it to you.

Come here…I split my heart in two,

But you no longer have it, do you?

This house, dreams shattering,

Finding ways to kill the pain.

To every dream left behind,

I take a bow.

The levee broke,

I live to fight once more.

The road to the grave,

clear.

Fixing to die, a star fell…

Inside this sickness I will rest.

I must rest.
