Why Blame?

Why Blame?

A Poem by a.r.

I could blame you.

I could blame you for all of this.

The secrets,

The lies.

I could blame you for the pain.

I could blame you for them.

I could blame you for the sickness.

I could blame you for what

I had done to myself.

I could blame you for the thoughts,

The ideas,

The attempts.

I could blame you for everything after.

I did blame you.

Not for everything,

But for a lot.

I blamed you for

Other people,

For what you had done.

You did do that,

You didn’t make me do those things.

But I did blame you for having

No idea.

That is where it gets tricky.

I could blame you, me, and what happened.

You had no idea.

You had no idea

About how anyone but yourself

Felt.

You were oblivious to that fact

That you hurt everyone around you.

You had no idea.

I am waiting,

Waiting to see if you’ll realize

What had happened.

Waiting for you to see

The collateral damage.

I am waiting for the day,

When you see that
I am broken,

Because of certain

Choices and events,

The day you will see,

That I am better when

Far from you,

But I am not better,

I just need to have you back

To the man, I thought you were.
