The Sound of Whispers

I hear the sound of whispers

Flowing through my soul.

A hush occurs

To lead me on.

 

Speak to me Thy love

Until I know Thy will.

Wash me so I may be enough,

The sound of whispers instill.

 

Like an instrument finely tuned,

The sound vibrates

Until finding its truth,

So do I need Thy grace.

 

Kiss me with blessings,

Soothe me with Thy hand on my life…

That I may be able to sing

To others of Thy might.

 

My Comforter, my Peace,

The reason for my faith.

Raise up in me

The sound of whispers so I may partake.

 

Thy Holy Spirit I long to hear

In this heart of mine.

Grateful Thou are ever near

In the sound of whispers divine.

Melinda, this is a beautiful piece. One of your best I think, because the beginning seems to have a duality to it that is almost tangible in its presence. You really should publish a book of faith based poems of inspiration. You do the better than any other poet I've read over several sites.
