Yesterland

Yesterland

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Kissed by a feeling

Sets my heart reeling.

Dreaming of Yesterland

And the things which no longer stand.

Wishing to pull the past

Back into existence without lack,

I close my eyes and recall

The wonder of it all.

How it happened…

The love which was sent

On crystal wings…

How it brought beauty to everything…

Yesterland is a place I go

To feel love from long ago.

Remembering the time

When love danced in this heart of mine…

When smiles were many,

And laughter freeing.

When love was here with me,

And I was happy.

When hope instilled,

And I believed in true love still.

When I thought it was for me,

And before it made its leave

Though I visit Yesterland,

I must know and understand

That while I’m seeking the past in black & white array,

I’m missing the gift of today.

You know dear there is still love out there but channeled as different energy. Just don't loose hope

The last stanza is what members of my family have started to say to me. Letting go of precious memories is hard to do. Kathie

Yes, I know.. You can never really let go.
Yesterland as I understand it to be Melinda
is just a day or night-dream away.
Just a thought process of your mind sent back in time to refresh your energy to be who it is that you now must be!

The past are just lessons to be wiser and kinder. Thank you Melinda for your amazing poetry.

I have flutters all over my body
well
love is mature
it grows
through pain and time
so no point on looking back
the best is yet to come
love grows

I often have the feeling that I am living in the wrong time period. It's a strange feeling too feel in Yesterland if only for a moment. Such a poignant poem, butt worn a strong positive ending. Lovely job Melinda.
