YesterlandA Poem by Melinda McQueenKissed by a feeling Sets my heart reeling. Dreaming of Yesterland And the things which no longer stand.
Wishing to pull the past Back into existence without lack, I close my eyes and recall The wonder of it all.
How it happened… The love which was sent On crystal wings… How it brought beauty to everything…
Yesterland is a place I go To feel love from long ago. Remembering the time When love danced in this heart of mine…
When smiles were many, And laughter freeing. When love was here with me, And I was happy.
When hope instilled, And I believed in true love still. When I thought it was for me, And before it made its leave
Though I visit Yesterland, I must know and understand That while I’m seeking the past in black & white array, I’m missing the gift of today. © 2015 Melinda McQueenReviews
