In a Thing Called Time

In a Thing Called Time

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

In a Thing Called Time

Radiant was her face,

When her dream was given a place.

Longing for a time that feels like a lifetime ago,

A time her heart still knows.

She remembers fondly,

His spirit glowing with an ease.

Something gentle about his touch

Made her love him so much.

In a thing called time,

Her heart did he find.

Stretched across space,

Love did not go to waste.

She traces his memory

As the greatest love story.

Reliving it in the folds of who she is,

Giving purpose to her most cherished.

In a thing called time,

There’s no need for reason or rhyme.

For when two hearts collide

Love refuses to hide.

Her tears still come

Though all is said and done.

As for what she feels…

Well, it’s just as real.

Until time is no more…

Until she is with the one she adores…

She lives her life

In a thing called time.
