Love Me Enough

Love Me Enough

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Love Me Enough

Love me enough to be my friend,

To not let our story end.

Love me enough to stay in my life

Even though it’s a different ride.

Love me enough to cherish what we had

And not let it end bad.

Love me enough to be honest

Even though there is regret.

Love me enough to not throw me away

Just because you don’t have the words to say.

Love me enough not to ignore me,

To not let a friendship flee.

I wish you loved me enough to look me in my eyes

And tell me it’s over, as you held me when I cried.

Love me enough to tell me the truth,

For it’s better than losing you.

We all wish for that
to have someone that will love us more than we love ourselves
to absorb every single part of our soul
the good , the bad and the severely ugly

take it all

enjoyed this piece

Such an amazing palpable and sorrowful plea for love and friendship overcoming all obstacles, for that is true love from start to finish. Love conquers all, love never fails...such is the love of God for His people. Alas, human kind often plays with love, taking it either for granted or not appreciating its depth. I so enjoyed all the different tenets of your poem, Melinda. Thank you for sharing!

"truth" and "trust" both are just grips of love. and loving one with heart could be a blessing or the omen to one's life, however, it oft. depends how one treats love right. kinda very deep poetry you dripped in. you put the faith in your lover, & in return, want him to put his... in you. nicely penned!

Honest and direct words dear Melinda.
"Love me enough to tell me the truth,
For it’s better than losing you."
Honest and gentle ending. Still leave us with pain and sorrow. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Melinda, this is such a sad write, you seem to be a lot like me when it comes to giving your heart away. All anyone gac do is let them go if that is what they chose to do. Valentine
