'Innocence"

'Innocence"

A Poem by Night

"Innocence"

There was magic that day, the way it made me smile

The sound of pure innocence

in the laughter of a child.

It took me to days past as I remember with a sigh

Thoughts of warm summer nights

 and days gone by.

I will always remember how that day made me smile

The sound of pure innocence

in the laughter of a child.

One of the greatest joys I have ever experienced was the first time my daughter laughed...I mean really LAUGHED...and the sound never gets old, never gets tired...I do the silliest things just to hear that laugh. Beautifully done, Night. Exquisite in its simplicity.

There is certainly something pure magic in a child's laughter. Even on the gloomiest of days they could bring a smile to anyone's face. All children should 'know' the innocence of laughter, and we need to hold that very dear in our hearts. A touching read.

...except when their sick, they get so quiet, how we wish they would make noise again...:)
There is nothing more wonderful than the sound of children laughing, so lost in their innocence and their joy. I often listen to mine when they are laughing and having fun and it always fills my heart with joy. Beautiful poem.
