Between 2 Men

 

Karen knew two men 10yrs ago

The older guy his name was Larry

The younger guy his name was Jason

Karen dated Larry 6yrs prior

But since she wasn’t ready to be with anyone

Larry was ready for a committed relationship

The two fell apart

Over the years Karen had one non committed relationship after another

Karen never valued her own worth

Her worth was measured based on people she slept with

Many people that came into her life

Where reflections of her…little did she know

They didn’t want much they wanted sex

It was all a game

Karen got tired of spending many nights alone

Karen got tired of spending holidays alone

Karen got tired of lying because in truth she didn’t love herself enough to attract the love she deserved

It took Karen to be with Derrick to see how insecurity of self really meant

For the first time she gave love but the love wasn’t given in return

Karen had to let Derrick go

When she did she saw Larry’s name and decided she had nothing to lose

At the same time she poured her heart and soul to Jason everyday since he was her friend

Larry was surprised to hear from her based on how it ended between the two of them

Karen felt there was something about him then maybe they could build something now

This time Larry was married man with a kid on the way

Karen was happy for him yet surprised that he finally found himself settled down

So the two met after so many years

Larry drove up to her house trying not be nervous

But saw Karen was he was like “Wow”

As Karen stepped into his car before Larry drove off the first thing he asked

“What happened to US”

Karen who always had answers for the first time didn’t have the answer for this one

So the two hung out had some drinks and reminisce as if they never lost that connection

Larry told himself as she was talking “this time he will not let her go”

Since then Karen and Larry were always together

Then went out to restaurants, bowling, movies but the real challenge would be

Once his son was born would Karen be able to handle him spending time with his family

And handle his business with his soon to be ex-wife

Karen told herself to be careful since he’s married but there was something about him

That made her want him to stay because he was worth it

Now here’s is Jason the friend that knows her true character

Karen enjoys her company with Jason

Jason comes from a family that are Millionaries and they only date within the same level

Karen didn’t fit the level Jason had

Yet they were great together as friends

Jason was the opposite of Larry

Jason has no kids, not married and extremely outgoing yet reserved

But what she saw from him that reminded her of Derrick was how emotionally detached he was and she is too fragile of a person to go back to that dark time in her life

When Karen was with Jason she spoke intelligently and was careful of her words

Karen found herself acting more serious than just being herself

Karen invited Jason to her family outings but Jason didn’t do the same for her

When Karen was with Larry she could be herself.

Larry had a bad-boy type of intelligence that was balanced which attracted her to him

Larry invited Karen to his family gathering just like she did for him and Karen was able to see another side of Larry she never seen before.

Larry was affectionate and loved holding her

Karen for the first time felt safe in his arms

But he wouldn’t be available to her due to his situation

As months turned into 2years later

Karen and Jason became closer he soon started to open up his world to her

Karen felt as if he would never come around but Jason believes in taking his time

In truth Jason had to remove the countless women that he didn’t want to make room for what he needed

Larry was still separated from his wife but now got the chance to be with his three yr old son and step-daughter and saw things with his wife weren’t going as she planned

His step-daughter told him how some guy tried to touch her inappropriately and how she ran and how mom is being beaten by this man

Hearing this made Larry behavior turning from calm and collective to wanting to murder this man

Larry had to tell Karen he needed sometime away to handle some personal business

It was none of Karen’s business what he was going on and since she didn’t know Karen became upset and Larry had no time for pettiness so he bounced

Jason on the other hand to ease her mind he took her out to a romantic date on the beach

He had a picnic basket with complimentary Wine and good food

Jason was tired of hearing her whine about Larry and he wanted this to end since by this time he was falling in love with her

That’s when Jason asked her to marry him

Karen was in shock and her eyes filled with tears wishing it was Larry doing this and not Jason but since in reality this wouldn’t happen she looked into Jason’s eyes and saw something Larry didn’t have in his “LOVE” she said “Yes”

When she hugged Jason everything about Larry was gone

“she thought”

The next day Derrick came knocking at her door after 3yrs that they never spoke to each other

Derrick mentioned how he didn’t have the courage to say he was sorry but he hopes that its not too late

Karen’s feelings for Derrick was as gone as someone that is buried

Yet she forgave him and told him good luck in life

As she closed the door to that chapter in her life

As she thought of Larry and whatever business he had to do

She felt that ended too

Weeks turned into Months

That Karen hasn’t heard from Larry

Larry was working on his situation with his family

Larry and his ex wife got back together to save the family

But after a year of being back together his wife left him for another man

Larry was done and filed for custody of his son and step-daughter

Larry sat back saying how he made the biggest mistake by leaving Karen hanging and he found out she was engaged, it was 7yrs ago all over again.

The Day before Karen was about to get married

Larry came to her house with roses and a apology

Inside his car were his two kids watching from the window

Larry apologized profusely for his mistakes that he still loves her

Karen looked into his eyes and saw something she hadn’t seen before

“LOVE”

Larry said “that Jason is a very lucky man to have a woman like her

Cause like a fool he walked away not once but twice

Now it was too late”

Karen said “I will always LOVE you Larry” she wished him luck with his life

But she has Jason and she wont let him go

Larry knew her well and saw right through her

He stood over her and pointed to her chest

Saying “Jason may have you physically but I have your HEART

And that is something he wont ever have I will prove it to you”

Larry kissed her forehead and gave her the flowers and walked away

The very next day

Karen was about to marry the Man of her dreams

Jason’s rich family on the left

And Karen’s dysfunctional family on the right

Karen’s god children walk down as little flower kids

The Minister was ready to take both people into holy matrimony

The Minister says “If anyone thinks these two should not be marry speak now or forever hold there peace”

Larry opened the door

Karen’s family screamed in excitement

The security was pushing him but Larry was too strong for them

Larry called KAREN…BABE I LOVE U

BABE MARRY ME

Everyone on Karen’s side is crying

Karen’s eyes water up as Jason looks on with anger

Larry got in the front and stood over Karen saying

I’m not leaving here until your last name matches mine

You don’t love Jason he’s not me

Karen pushed him crying

"Don’t do this"…

Larry grabbed her holding her close to him

That was it…Karen fell into his arms

He kissed her passionately

That was when Karen Smith became Karen Brown

He picked her up and walked out of the church

A Year later

Larry and Karen welcomed a daughter
