Stolen Identity

Stolen Identity

A Poem by Nancy A Halbert

Stolen Identity

Beware love knocking on your door
Announcing itself too loudly
Could be someone with stolen Identity
Making you feel
Turning you to feel like
A footprint in wet sand
Flippant waves wash away
A sanctuary in the desert
Crumbling to sand
A sure well mystifyingly dry
Dropping that bucket again and again
Or a passage turning into a wall
Over and over.
Sad are the ways of the world.

If I hadn't opened that door I would never of had all the years with my husband before God called him Home. Valentine

I think there are layers to this. It is beautifully written and your choice of words and metaphors are very creative.
