![]() Waves of regretA Poem by Lynn HiggsCurrent mood: ![]() Category: Life The time passes by I Think of all the lost opportunities Times to get out See what love The world had left Sat and waited to Feel the presence of Hope in something that wasn't going to change Just once thought to leave An ounce a tiniest ounce Of maybe a chance For them to see Who it is That I really am Maybe just maybe They would know all The pain that was cause Not justified not at all But all the forgiveness Sparkle through to them My own forgiveness blinded my flight to safety As the times of agony forgotten Only to remember when life got hard Or someone said something Why!!! why are you that way How can you think that You don't understand Everyone will see How flaw you are So be silent Don't say a word Will protect you From the horrid you are A moments time The energy that was saved Spent gone no longer Feeling the courage To break free from the shame Always feeling second best Or the lowest of all Of course they can't see how bad it hurts Nor will they ever know the pain Finnaly free No more chains Or fear to keep me there Just regrets When lift my head wondering If only I had Realize the pain they gave Was not mine to received Regret what about Is it too late To watch a sunrise Or how much time was lost Waiting on them Just to notice maybe To become enlighten That I was just as good As al those around me I didn't deserve fear I wasn't trying to be hated I only wanted to be love Accepted for who I was Waves of regret How much did I lose Waiting to be accepted Or At least treated like a human How much did I miss While waiting just To not to be hated anymore Waves of regrets One day I may know all that I lost Trying to show love to one who Didn't believe I was worth even existing © 2010 Lynn Higgs |
