Just Be

Just Be

A Poem by Yellow Butterfly
"

Inhale....Exhale....Breathe

"
********************

with a stillness comes a calming force

stop searching, it will happen in due course

for now, cease, slow down your musing

don't explain to anyone your reasoning

becoming content, at one with yourself

nurturing your mind, body and health

deep intake of breath releases a gentle flow

ability to think clearly, awakening your soul

disconnect your minds eye from all you see

be still and revel in the absence of fantasy

new found void, missing portion in your mind

time to disengage, retreat within, seek, find

do not be haunted by thoughts of mortality

no time for reasoning, death has no reality

embrace life with all the love that remains

be present, be happy,  no more constraints

your mind is a gift, so many opportunities

open wings, soar to the highest extremities

nostalgic longings reconnecting your heart

remnants of a deepest love, will never part

take stock, a moment of unadulterated clarity

ask, believe, receive, don't dispel lucid imagery

accept, nourish what has always been within

endless possibilities,  a mindful journey can begin

This is a most extensive list of all the ways we need to unplug from the pounding ever-present angst "out there" in the public discourse. It's addictive. People can't live without a few daily rounds of strife. We are conditioned by all the distorted fomenting crap flowing into our channels. I think many, in the grip of this collective addiction, will be unable to grasp everything you spill here, but even if people could do one or two of these each day. It can take months to condition ourselves into a new more serene attitude & this is the roadmap (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Calm and calmer.: from start to end, could feel dark thoughts fading.. no magic happening but a drawing away from that awful cloud that hides me, us. You write superbly, almost in a whisper, beckoning the reader as you might a listener to relax, feel.. lighter.. perhaps somewhere else.. away.. off... gone from the now. Hard to explain, briefly.. but know I leave with a lighter load than when slipped into your space. Thank you so very much, Yellow Butterfly.

I like the message that this poem gave to just disconcert form the world for a while and just connect with yourself by giving your self time to slow down and pay attention to yourself. So many of use don't do this anymore or forget to. The rhyming scheme you choose was thoughtful.

i love this. 'just be' - no one does that anymore. people are on their phones, thinking about other things, worrying, not in the moment. it reminds so much of what my muse thoreau wrote -

“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.”

and

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms...”

good, deep flow with words of wisdom. a wonderful meditation. bravo on a thought-provoking piece

Awesome rhyming and timing for the ages. One of your best. So much thought and time went into this. A feast for the eyes and minds. You are waxing lyrical and going musical.
