Hope?

Hope?

A Poem by Chris

She walked a crooked road

For year she kept that hope

one day

it will be alright

she thought as she

wandered

as she staggered on

that hope began to slip

a needle

a drink

Stories on her wrists

a river running red

to me it brought

life

to her it brought

longing

for hope it will dry

I tried to keep her up

forced that head up high

it just dragged her lower

as she wondered why

what's the point?” she says

another day of despair?”

I told her to have hope

it will be alright

too late

shows how helpless we are when it comes to trying to save our friends and family, all we can do is learn from it all. Strong write and has a lyrical quality that probably comes from the music side.
