Depression

Depression

A Poem by Nikki
"

I've entered a very depressed state within the last few days, and my poetry is my outlet.

"

It is a black smoke,

Wrapping itself around me,

Darkening my vision,

Until everything is Grey.

It grasps at my throat,

Making breathing difficult,

Survival seems impossible.

Depression is such a b***h. It only took you seven lines to get the point across and you did it well. I like "it grasps at my throat". Depression is suffocating and this is such and appropriate wording. Survival is difficult when you don't even have the energy to get up and pee. I totally get it. I'm sorry you are feeling this way. Keep writing. I won't insult you with the reach for the sunshine bullshit. When you are in the dark, you are in the dark. I hope you feel better.

This is a sad and dark piece, but well written. I can see the black smoke forming a hand around a neck. This is very visual for me. Greap piece
