TODAY

Today I fell hard

Much harder than before

Such that my bones would be spoiled

And a swift rise would not have this day.

This gravel, beneath the fall

Were it not for its uneven shred,

I may have risen without distress

The present in shade with moment

Whilst leaving dust to carry

To turn out of its sort

I gazed once for the while

The endeavour was met

I waited instead

Until patience in shred,

At its greatest with young heart,

Would wait more and need

Became close to gravel

In breath and in bone

Trust absence and patience

Heart settled in with time

Need all that you should

With a mark down one eye

I’ll send for remembrance

But await no return

To let heart and gravel and bone

Deprive of its grace

Aged enough to know

With verity of time

But time should be had

And forcibly so

To find upon this fall

The pride and its worth to settle both sides

But then gravel clenched

And suddenly shaken

Taken and away with breeze

The blood ran at last.

So a heart kept swell

By sure of its fate

Taken this age to come to an end

To begin with a future rise

This really took me someplace while reading where once there was no more to read I felt a stomach of disappointment. Definition of moving, yet so simple.
