before you

before you

A Poem by Procky
"

A poem regarding the long wait for the end

"

I left my arms open

And wished for you sooner

I could not hear you

And did not see

Yet, I would still wait

I would not concede

But crossed these arms

And held a patient smile

Day after day after the next

A wait I would come to know well

For more than several years

I stared a thousand yards more

An echo of my voice

Distraction in a moment

Vanished within the years

A stare by no means uncertain

Flat between the horizon

And presently void

Given this chance to stare

My breath might just hold

It would circle often

The essential desire

So I would keep my arms warm and wide

Provoked with mine own will

I like your poem, Procky! I heard that the average person spends 7 years of his entire live waiting,,,waiting in line at the grocery store, etc. I hope you find what you're waiting for. Keep writing! You have a creative way with words. Thank you.
