A Poem by Caleb

Untitled

Always seeing the best in those

Opening doors to see them close

Knowing your path, seeking my end

Quivering hands, cause death to pend

I trusted you, those words you said

I fell in lies, like sheep you led

In want, my want, I looked for you

But blind I was, with love so new

Relieved I am, for I forgot

Your snare I am no longer caught

But wounds so old, reminded now

Deceit you sowed, peace not allowed

So long ago that ship has sailed

Yet pain you cause, has never failed

The days now pass, oh very slow

The nights so long, you do not know

You seem so full of joy and peace

The things I lacked, but now have ceased

I’ve found someone, though dream it may

In this I do not wish, I pray
