No Regret

No Regret

A Poem by Punkgyrl3

If you ask me why

Or ask me what I feel

The words get lost inside my thoughts

There's nothing to reveal

Finally came the day

No matter what the cost

Not worth the fight or raging battle

It’s already been lost

All the time I wasted

All the effort spent

I had to be the one to say

And say without regret

There comes a time to say goodbye

A time to just let go

The waves will crash, then fade away

I'm alright on my own

Don't think I won't remember

Memories rarely fade

But you’re the one who drew the line

Your payback your crusade

Your words they strike like lightning

Meant to cause a shock

Instead they reaffirm my choice

To turn my back and walk

I'm sure that there will come a day

I’ll miss my friend at last

But you just wouldn't let it be…

I'll let the moment pass
