Vacation of the Mind

Vacation of the Mind

A Poem by Punkgyrl3

Slowly my eyes begin to wander

Not through the world around me

But into the world inside me

To the unfinished past

A tear trickles down my cheek

As I race to the land of mistakes

Slowly I travel down the road

Leading to the future

With hope as my guide

I paint a picture of what will be

And imagine how to mend the past I’ve broken

From the silence of solitude I return

Regaining consciousness my trip is only a memory

Waves of what was and what’s to come

Ripple to the back of my mind

This is pretty old...written when I was in high school (I'm 29 now)...but there's something about it I still love. I actually used "From the silence of solitude I return, Regaining consciousness my trip is only a memory" as my senior quote in the yearbook :o)
