Fade Away

Sitting around wasting time away

My mind wanders dreamily into the day

My daydreams consist of what used to be

All of the memories flow back to me

 

I can smell the same scents and breathe the same air

My mind always finds its way back to there

Those days were when my life really began

Each day like clockwork my schedule ran

 

My school days were long but I never could wait

For my weekends to come without knowing my fate

But the things that are running through my mind

Are now the reasoning that I must find

 

Why did I let all my chances by?

I gave myself all of my reason to cry

As I open my eyes back into the day

All of my regretful thoughts fade away
